Maude/Good Times. Would love to see who has the guts to fill Bea Arthur’s shoes.

Cruel Intentions is based on Dangerous Liaisons, by 18 Century author Chodelos de Laclos, and later made into a movie starring Glenn Close. I’ve read the book, and your right - the tone can be all over the place. Melodrama, dire consequences, and humour all mixed into one. Cruel Intentions is actually pretty faithful…
I know. It always made me laugh at the editors insistence that Playgirl was for women only, when it was obvious that mostly gay men were buying it. At least in their later years they sort of half acknowledged who was really buying the magazine.
I worked on a couple of low budget movies, and when it came to any scenes involving nudity or sex scenes, strictly closed set was strongly enforced by the directors, which was fine by me.
I think that’s David Geffen with Katy Perry.
Anthony was kinda more than the token male. He was a black ex-con who put a face on the all too blatant racism people faced everyday. I’ve recently began watching these shows again on Youtube, and it amazes me that back then the stuff they put in that wouldn’t fly today.
That’s what the LOST guys did too. First episode aired and the prevailing theory was that they were all in some sort of afterlife/purgatory. The writers said no way, you’ll never guess what it really is. Very last episode, turns out they were in purgatory. Just tell the damn story and don’t worry if fans figure out…
Ah. Okay thanks. But one thing you point out is a patient in this condition could develop infections and other medical problems. Would the leaders of Gilead care? As long as the baby is born healthy, who cares about the mother? The only reason I ask, is that given Natalie’s condition, it might occur to them that this…
Don’t worry about it. I am probably remembering wrong.
Okay, I haven’t gotten around to seeing this episode yet, so I may have probably missed something. And I hope this doesn’t sound terrible, but Gilead IS a terrible place. So if Natalie’s body is just being kept alive to basically be an incubater, why don’t the Gilead powers that be just keep all the handmaid’s in…
I enjoyed the episode. And I love the cross cut between how the two houses are run. But I am confused about Elektra’s. Just a couple of weeks ago she was basically crashing in people’s couches, and now she has a fabulous expensive looking apartment? Does working at an S/M club really pay that much?
I’m probably wrong, but I thought the guy Ricky allegedly cheated with was a blond white guy?? Truth be told, I had completely forgotten all about Ricky.
Did you see the alternate ending on the DVD? If you haven’t, I won’t say anything, but it was pretty simple yet powerful.
I’d be up for a Series 7 remake, though I thought the original was pretty good. With all the new tech we have now, a google search and a GPS, Connie would have had the rest of them killed by dinner.
I haven’t been to Mcdonalds in years, but I have seen commercials here in Canada where the happy meals have little books instead of toys. That seems like a much better option IMHO.
Just have to say that I loved your stories. My parents are Scottish, and whenever we went back for a visit, there was no such thing as anyone taking us on a tour to see some of the historical sites. Strictly visiting family members, and god help you if you don’t have time visit Aunt Gladys who is someone’s cousins…
If you click on the arrow in the instagram post, it shows more of the teaser and yes M Morrison is there with several close-ups of what is supposed to be a bulge but just appears to be a rolled up sock in his shorts.
I really liked this episode. It may have made a few missteps, but if an episode can get me to laugh, and cry, about a minor character who I forget is even on the show, then that is at least an A rating.
I saw that one in the theatre when it came out, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Might be time for a rewatch to see if it stands up.
I was just about to say the same thing. Costner has been telling this story for years. But truth be told, even if Diana expressed interest, there is no way she would have ended up doing it.
