Yeah I know. And Smollett is just the kind of self absorbed, morally bankrupt, selfish person to flip to supporting right wing conspiracy nonsense for money that the right loves. It’s the same trajectory Candace Owens followed.

I’m just waiting for this guy to go the way of every other media figure who got beat up by the left and become a spokesperson for right wing media. The guy will never get another acting job again so he’ll probably go the Candace Owens route and lean hard into conservative conspiracy as a new career. It wouldn’t

If Russell Crowe had literally assaulted someone in front of cameras during a live Oscars broadcast, he likely would’ve been banned too.

Whatever one feels about the punishment, nobody needed Bad Boys 4.

“I hate both ants and wasps, so I felt weird about playing either one. Then they explained the concept of the film and I was like ohhhhhhh”

technically Bad Boys 4 and that other film are just “on pause” so he hasn’t technically “lost” any films yet, given how badly Sony needs a hit I don’t see them canning BB4.

Pretty sure the people in the academy in 2019 are literally different people from the academy in 1977 and 2002.

I understand you are uncomfortable that I challenged your principals and told people to hold Will Smith accountable.

While you were deep looking into those jokes, were you also looking...

He didn’t get tossed. He got banned from showing up to the Event.

Roman Polanski was expelled from the entire Academy.

Logic doesn’t bend to your misreading of the facts nor your basic ass whataboutism.

I didn’t read anything about Smith being forbidden from being nominated or receiving and Oscar, just him not being able to attend the actual ceremony (Polanski didn’t attend the ‘02 ceremony in person either, since he’d have been arrested once he set foot in the US). As far as I know he wasn’t “expelled”.

I feel like your first question wasn’t actually in good faith, since you then repeatedly failed to use Miller’s preferred pronouns.

I appreciate the spirit of commenters respecting preferred pronouns. However, without attention to sentence structure, indiscriminate use of pronouns can lead to confusion.

It’s confusing because the story isn’t written well. Plenty of stories, here and elsewhere, about people whose preferred pronouns are they/them that aren’t this much of a clusterfuck.

Just do a note at the beginning saying that the person uses they/them. We’re all progressive, but it’s confusing as long as we’re still using English.

It’s been plain to see for years now that this dude is a Level-10 dickhead. Why the fuck WB decided to use them as an anchor point for whatever-the-fuck multiverse DC shit-fest they’re forcing on us is simply beyond me.

The thinkpieces have mostly been extrapolation about Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith’s relationship, which is largely none of anybody’s business.”

Now playing

Maybe I’m showing my age here, but I think the three best Bond themes ever were Shirley Bassey’s “Goldfinger”, Wing’s “Live and Let Die” and Carly Simon’s “Nobody Does It Better”. If Radiohead’s “Man Of War” was used for a Bond theme, I think that would have been in the top 4 easily:

May she live on as a doll who nags him about how fast he eats

“...that’s used by so many movies and TV shows as shorthand for ’80s cheese.”
