Here’s the thing: yes, actually. An important component of good worldbuilding/storytelling even in a fantasy setting is an internal logic even if that logic does not match up to the rules of real life. So it makes complete sense to parse out how something works within the rules established for this universe.
the authors serious bother to weigh what the most logical and realistic way for those magical stones to exhibit their power would be? Really?
RE: the use of portals for space travel, they were shown and discussed in GotG Vol 2 and Thor: Ragnarok. I don’t believe it was important to review this in a movie as tightly packed and paced as Infinity War.
I think what crippled the Star Trek movies was the Star Wars sequels. The first Star Trek was a blast and Into Darkness was...well what other choice was there for a space opera? But as soon as Abrams essentially took his Star Trek skills and implemented them into Star Wars, the mainstream interest probably went down…
Which reminds me of the scene in Amazing Spider-Man where all the crane operators move the cranes to help him. It felt forced and unearned.
But it’s not accurate. How soon people forget Thunderlips from the No. 4 movie of 1982 ($391 million box office, adjusted for inflation), Rocky III
I love his monologue with his own image in the mirror at his house. So bad-ass.
Awkward Brooding Twisted up Peter Parker is pretty spot on for the OG Ditko version of the character. First 40 or so issues of ASM was angry loner Peter hating everybody in his life and endlessly complaining about his circumstance, needing money for rent, not having any friends, girlfriend hates spiderman, aunt needs…
Don’t be fooled. Kanye’s pause is his way of not answering the question. He just won’t say anything until the interviewer has to move on to the next topic.
He thought he was on with that wet wipe Jimmy Fallon. Never been a fan of the word but man Kanye is out here just cooning all over the place. Must be nice to be so rich and invested in your own asshole that you become a whole other race separate from the rest of us. No one was trying to bully you, they were trying to…
It’s not about policies ’cause I’m not a politician like that
i’ll constantly go up to bat for the Raimi Spiderman films in that I STILL think it has one of the best portrayals of the character of Spiderman in that every time Spiderman succeeds, Peter Parker takes two steps back and his personal life suffers for it. It’s seen most wonderfully in Spiderman 2 which is still my favo…
Sit down, boy, you’re about to get schooled. Do you have any inkling at all of just how progressive Star Trek was for it’s time? Seriously- Do you know just what was going on that Roddenberry was directly challenging?
Here is the thing though. Picard pretty much represents the idealized version of what humanity can be in the Star Trek universe. If you “Skywalker” him then you sh*t on Rodenberry’s whole progressive vision of humanity striving to achieve their potential, which is pretty much the whole point of Star Trek.
...still maintaining a broad narrative arc but introducing better “act breaks” that helped keep it from feeling like a 22-hour movie...
I wish this article had been a bit more explicit/detailed about the reality that Marvel’s movie and TV divisions are run by completely different people who hate each other.
Nothing deleted is actually gone from the internet and can be found if you know how to look.
Libby Watson contended over on Splinter that by releasing any statement at all, the Times is giving credence to the cries of racism.
I think you are missing the entire point of the flashback. We knew the sisters were evil and have extreme hatred for one another. But what the flashback shows is that there was a time that the sisters came together as one. They bonded when the two had a common enemy (if you want to call their younger sister an enemy).…
