I’m not defending Franco here, but social media is a cesspool where commenters jockey for attention by posting the most outrage-filled hot takes they can muster. So it may not be the ideal forum for a wide-ranging, nuanced discussion about improving gender equality.

The vote IMO is more about getting Republicans on record as voting against Net Neutrality (since even the vast majority of GOP voters is against it’s repeal) so that it can be used against them in future elections. Its not gonna pass - but it might be useful in the future nonetheless.
