Yeah, he really fucked up by getting cancer.

Well, get out a bottle of Milk of Magnesia. Cause you’re about to start feeling uneasy.

Franken is kind of, sort of, the reason we have Mueller (it was his grilling of Sessions that got that racist fucker to trip up and recuse himself). He served a valiant and historical purpose but then the rest of 2017 happened.

A rare Pyrrhic moral victory! I’m guessing there’s hope that the Democrats will leverage moral highground for votes! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

I am certain that I will meet at least one white woman in 2018 or 2020 who is a victim of harassment or assault, but wanted a tax break and voted GOP.

Such bullshit! The accusations were started by the republicans, and Roger Stone. The first accusation has been verified false, and you can tell by the pic he wasn’t even touching her.

Yep. Very slippery slope here. Eagerly awaiting the resignation of all other Democrat Senators in the next 2-3 weeks.

The thing is, if you actually watch Franken’s resignation, he finally comes out and says that the accusations are either false or misconstrued. He didn’t want to say that earlier out of respect for the victims, but he’s been backed into a corner, and has nothing to gain from saying that other than — in my view —

Remember when Bill Clinton got a blow job and Republicans tried to destroy his presidency but members of his own party stood behind him because he was a good president who championed liberal causes? Yeah, those days are over. Democrats could fuck up a wet dream these days.

The concern is the precedent. What happens if the next round of accusations are leveled at someone from a state which doesn’t have a Democratic governor? Will all the people who called on Franken to resign now have to call for this hypothetical other guy to resign?

Can’t we just give all these people a scarlett A or something, and decide if we still want to vote/work/be married to them? Especially since one political party is already doing that, minus the scarlett A. I’m sick of seeing GOP collaborators on TV saying the difference between Franken et al and Trump/Moore is “ Well,

“Then both sides are the same so why bother voting?”

I’m not saying I disagree with the decision but how does it not change the “mid-term electoral calculus?” Minnesota now has two senate seats up in 2018.

This one breaks my heart. I wanted Al to run for president, for fucks sake. We have a shocking paucity of democrats who are both willing and capable of articulating why progressive policies are actually beneficial and moral. If this actually helps us move toward a better environment for women to work and live in, than

Do you know how precisely that was used as a strategy, by whom and when? Was it a Rove thing? I first started hearing that a lot in the later years of the Clinton administration, mostly from young, educated, white voters whose politics skewed on the left side of independent. Your Naderites, basically. I don’t reject

I agree with cases like Roy Moore, Kevin Spacey, Weinstein and Donald Trump but I fear the political climate will also leave a lot of unfortunate casualties, who while not necessarily innocent saints, who’s lives will be irrevocably ruined by unsubstantiated accusations or substantiated accusations that unfairly

Franken is neither a pedophile, nor is he guilty of sexual assault, unless there’s information I’m missing. He was forced to resign after everyone in his party turned against him.

Do you really see any kind of equivalence between Franken and the likes of Trump and Moore?

The reaction to his actions once exposed are what ended his career, not his actions themselves. You can still sexually abuse women and become president, or a state senator. Unless the standards you speak of are applied universally, what’s the point?

I’m not defending anyone here but I simply want to let it be known that if I got drunk at a party when I was 21 or 22 and may have grabbed a little ass and you just now feel compelled to speak up about it that will most undoubtedly destroy my life from here on, be prepared to have it dragged out in court.

Surprising.
