Sounds about right. been awhile for me too, and while i don’t always like King as much as some I do recall enjoying his Supergirl run.
its crazy to me how some animated series seem to live on as zombies forever, while other good ones can’t get renewed for a 2nd season.
You know, some of us are old enough to remember the original!
well this is one thing i do blame on young people (relatively speaking, of course)
hope it does well but feels like there is little demand for this show after all this time.
my recollection that it was perceived of as being very slow and not a lot of action. i was only 8 when it came out though
to my mind, star wars should feel like a modern update to the old serial Flash Gordon/Buck Rogers space operas, both on film and printed comic strips. i did not get that vibe much from the PT, while i did more or less get that vibe from Force Awakens as well as Mando, at least.
i’m sorry but it sounds like a lot of the “influences” TPM had on subsequent filmmakers was negative. for instance, emphasis on world-building rather than having a satisfying plot, too much attention paid to potential for spin-offs and sequels over a more self-contained story.
yeah, seems like its more about preventing other streamers from getting projects from these creators than having them produce series/films for your own streaming service. plus apparently streamers all still have tons and tons of money to burn on these sorts of deals.
i guess i’m a weirdo because i’ve never found any of Sheriden’s shows appealing at all. Gave yellowstone a few eps but found all the characters to be complete jerks. watched Tulsa King and Stallone seemed like a complete jerk. maybe its just me
i think its just way too predictable so that no matter how nice it might look its hard to get invested in it. not a lot of suspense or tension imo
its annoying when a show has main characters take forever to accept a plot point (and then usually continuing to 2nd guess it for quite a while) long long after the audience has accepted that plot point.
i think people are kind of tired of slow-paced puzzle box shows whose 1st season ends by raising more questions than it answers
thank you, that makes sense. Now Deadpool & Wolverine, THAT i would expect to be a big hit
good to see the ape movies are continuing to do well. Other than the 1st one with James Franco, I haven’t really dug them much but hey not everything’s for me.
i’m not even gonna bother looking her up
i mean, its not like its just him/her, a lot of us have just gotten used to forgoing the big screen experience for the conveniences of watching at home. Not sure what the solution is.
now that you mention it, seems surprising they never did a comedic/ironic rehash of Bionic Man, maybe with Will Ferrell or someone similar. now THAT one i would expect a lot of references to the old show in promotional materials.
Wasn’t there already a Dark Matter show? Bunch of people with amnesia on the run in a spaceship, and it turns out that they are all actually the galaxy’s most wanted criminals.
