i’m the reverse, thought Quantumania was an abomination but liked Flash at least until the 3rd act

seems like its designed to make it impossible for my phone to load the comments without crashing, and the comments are the main reason i come here!

i think its OK for us to be disappointed that so much money, time, and energy is poured into creating instantly forgettable mediocrities.  I suppose that’s always been the case but sure feels like the scale is a lot larger in the 21st century.

Ray Fisher’s BACK, baby!!!!!!

i almost always watch tv with subtitles on these days, makes viewing much more enjoyable for me at least

i feel like that exchange about how libertarians are essentially babies is going to end up going viral

now THAT to me is kinda crazy, the idea of people watching these things at high speed.. why, i don’t know

man that 45 day window goes by quick, feels like this just came out

while the whole “housewife with secret past as skilled fighter” is a bit played out, thought it worked reasonably well here.  Enjoyed the 1st two eps anyhow.  altho usually i find with fargo i tend to rate the season by how satisfying i find the finale

its bots all the way down

its true that there was a novelty in the early mcu movies, especially seeing all those superpowers looking reasonably good on screen for the 1st time. there’s not much novelty in seeing the latest guy who shoots beams from hands or has a suit of armor.

i’m not sure its even if they stopped the “fix it in post” philosophy it would change much at this point. People have moved on, which be OK if these movies didn’t have such huge budgets. If you need to make 500-600 million to turn a profit, then your movie either has to be 1) “must see” in order for people to feel

Deadpool 3 i’ll grant you, altho i have some doubts as to how well a 3rd movie will fare.

i dunno, i think a lot of people are OK with waiting 6 months for mcu content at this point. its not that they won’t watch it all but doesn’t feel urgent at all. kind of like the D+ star wars series

I think the first one overperformed a bit as it was the film right before Endgame so there was a lot of hype surrounding the mcu in general right at that moment and people were hoping CM would give some hints or at least help setup Endgame, i dunno. Her short subsequent appearances (mostly as a deux ex machina) were

eh, what works in comics and what works for movies isn’t necessarily the same thing.

yes i think early reviews tend to be by genre fans and of course lots looking to get out a hot take that will make them stand out from the crowd from the get-go. wouldn’t put much stock in them

hey, most people were introduced to Iron Man via the Black Sabbath song, hence all the confusion when he didn’t do a heel turn and kill the people he once saved.

don’t they usually have a 2nd unit that handles most of the action set pieces? I think the idea behind having an indie director handle the “character interaction” parts of the movie is that said indie director can put some of their unique touch on those parts so the movie as a whole seems less cookie cutter. sometimes

a cameo by Fandral that gets a little meta would be funny
