yes i think early reviews tend to be by genre fans and of course lots looking to get out a hot take that will make them stand out from the crowd from the get-go. wouldn’t put much stock in them

exactly.  they can be fun for introducing variant characters but its a lot harder to care if they live or die. i think both spiderverse movies handled things well tho

the buddy comedy angle sounds good to me.  worried they will try and shoehorn Black Manta in even if he doesn’t really fit in the story organically, but we’ll see i guess.  

i thought it had a lot of potential but didn’t really enjoy the show despite liking the cast.  League of Extraordinary Gentlemen comes to mind as well of course
