Words are flowing out just like the grand canyon...
i think he is basically right - most marvel characters don’t need 3 movies. marvel’s strength lies more in being able to introduce new characters that audiences quickly grow attached to, that doesn’t mean every one should have a neverending franchise
he jumped the shark with L & T, i mean it wasn’t WW 84 but it really highlighted his shortcomings (imo of course)
the problem is they have no idea where to take things post-RoS, and moviegoers are fickle when it comes to “prequels” (using the term very loosely here). Yes it worked for Mando and Andor, less so with Kenobi and much less so with BoBF, but i’m not sure any of those converted into a movie would’ve translated to the…
i know they are probably sick to death of it but i sure wish these guys would go back to making mcu movies, hasn’t been the same since they left and feels like their post-mcu projects have been pretty forgettable
having not seen it, i think part of the problem is putting the generally-grounded Ant Man in this sort of micro-space opera type setting. Seems like this would be more suited to the Fantastic Four than Scott & friends, with the angle then being Kang making an offer to Reed to turn back time and undo Ben’s…
iirc the 1st joke was an Aunt Jemima joke so that one’s probably a bit outdated
Puddy. and as others have said, he was perfectly cast as the Tick.
have no fears, they’ve got stories for years
that’ s fair - i have no attachment to the comic version of the character so didn’t really mind any adjustments they made. personally not a huge fan of awkwafina but thought she acquitted herself pretty well in this role, at least
the opening weekend box office was good but with this steep a drop off the movie will not be hugely profitable - may not even break even.
I think during COVID most of us just got used to waiting to see these movies on Disney plus. Basically superfans and those truly concerned about spoilers go out and see it on opening weekend, and that’s largely it for box office. They are still entertaining - just nothing folks can’t wait a few months more to see “for…
eh i do think there is room for star trek movies but probably best to start with a new cast and new characters rather than trying to reboot TOS yet again
they were so busy asking if they could, that they didn’t stop to think if they should
eh, my expectations for S3 of Mando are extremely low, so hopefully i’ll be pleasantly surprised. just not really interested in the fight for rulership of Mandalore. ugh
Hudson did get screwed over. that said, i suspect a lot of the changes were just about not being able to get Eddie Murphy for the role.
I don’t know why you’re picking on Ant-Man, Scott’s relationship with his daughter has been a thing since the beginning of his first movie. iirc he was the only hero with a kid until they gave Stark one in Endgame. As for the others, well I doubt we see the kid from L & T ever again. and while they gave Hulk a kid I…
joke went right over your head i guess
yeah i don’t think there is “too much” - they generally don’t have more than one new show running on D+ at a time, so its like a 1 hour a week thing, plus like 3 movies a year.
