you’d be wrong, something like 40% of all PTSD cases are caused by name mix-ups.

I mean, i’m 50 and i know who these people are but mostly know Chaplin and Marx thru various parodies/homages. Have seen plenty of I love Lucy though.

I don’t think JP is “unfranchiseable” at all, its just that most expect so little from blockbusters in terms of plot and character development that the JP sequels have all been disappointments

i think a lot of places have dropped commenting options as there are just too many trolls and its too much of a pain to moderate. everything seems to devolve into politics rather quickly and a comment section that is a dumpster fire tends to be a turnoff for newcomers, at least imo

kind of disappointing that the heist crew is all humans - they couldn’t have stuck one cool looking alien in there? even rogue one had the 6-armed guy

They should let that Jethro Tull guy have a whack at it as well.

I think its kind of like Miss Kitty and the “saloon girls” in Gunsmoke, everyone knows whats really going on but we just pretend otherwise

yeah i thought ep 2 was the weakest of the 1st three

better not eat any of those “sugar babies” candies either

I always liked how Lucas was more pragmatic than the others in S1, he definitely seemed to have a little more sense of self-preservation than the others. I also liked that in S2 he got the girl! Go Lucas!!!

Hey, Hanks wasn’t so nice in Mazes and Monsters!!

what is the deal with this site’s obsession with SNL? i thought with perkins gone we might get a break from endless SNL posts but no dice

i’m not even sure about that. yes many went with gimmicky 3-D after Avatar but i don’t remember many full on animated ones that tried to recreate that “immerse you in this world” vibe that Avatar was going for

i don’t think the author understands what “cultural impact” means

Gravity was the one i thought of as well

I think they still sell t-shirts with the McLovin drivers license at Target, or at least iirc saw some in the last year or two.  was surprised at the time

yeah i feel like danger zone in particular has been used as a reference many times.

So basically it had some technical innovations, which is what everyone has acknowledged all along. The point detractors make is that the plot is basic and cliched, none of the characters are particularly memorable and most have no interest in revisiting any of them, imo. I’m not finding the author’s arguments

That makes two of us!

yeah the larger DD’s that actually have seating areas are usually dominated by seniors meeting up for coffee. not as much as in the old days of course. but the idea that DD is the only fun place to go in town is a bit over the top
