uh, last i checked the R rated The Suicide Squad wasn’t exactly a box office smash. Nor was R-rated Birds of Prey. DC keeps chasing that Deadpool audience and not finding it - probably Peacemaker was about closest they’ve come.
that would be cool.
mcu seems way more likely just in terms of how many different projects they have coming up. could be both, of course
“...transforms him into the Hulk, a green goliath with super strength, speed, and invulnerability.”
yeah i didn’t think it was awful but not particularly memorable either. Chris Evans as a bad guy was interesting but seen it already in Knives Out (and Scott Pilgrim, i guess). I still don’t really get Gosling’s appeal but he was his usual self, i suppose.
RIP Roger Mosley
but the films done. it just seems weird to go so far as to toss it in the garbage just as part of a rebranding effort. i mean i guess it cuts the marketing costs but why not just toss it on HBO Max w/o marketing and see how it does.
does cgi count as a “physical appearance”
i will definitely check it out, thanks
thanks for the correction. i’m probably just generalizing from my own experience - whereas in the past i could name some of the top boxers, i couldn’t tell you who the heavyweight champ is right now. So maybe the sport is still huge but doesn’t have as much crossover appeal, or perhaps just not as much msm coverage.…
its kinda funny how boxing as a sport has dwindled in popularity over the years but yet boxing movies are still a thing. i woulda thought they’d at least have updated to MMA or something
agreed, he is getting a bit typecast, altho admittedly i haven’t seen much of his work lately outside of genre shows and BCS
not to mention it seems like the current promo for the show is the audio of the taxi guy telling “gene” to “say it.. just say it!”
i don’t know, all the close-ups of Jerry eating cinnamon buns made them look pretty gross imo. but of course irl they are delicious
i felt like in that moment he was also struck with inspiration for his later plan to use a toast to poison Don Eladio, but i’m probably reading way too much into it. as you say, the scene was much more about why Gus doesn’t indulge in romance
are you sure this wasn’t some kind of Liberty Mutual stunt?
yes altho i did make the connection. saw robocop first and got used to seeing Cox as villain, was a surprise to see him play a nice guy in Deliverance.
check out the big brain on Brett!
I think he plans to release Winds of Winter as a series of IG reels
