Diskerud is a worker.. I like his play and I'd take him in the midfield anytime over some of the higher skilled players that don't have Diskerud's effort.

Yeah, I have a lot of respect for him, but man he is a pompous ass of an analyst.

New Zealand got three points from three games, including one off of Italy, who incidentally finished below them in their group. That isn't bad for an OFC team. Not enough to get you through to the knockout round, but better than the one point Honduras got in group play. (That said, out of confederation loyalties, I'll

Neither Jones or Beckerman are good Plan A players but I felt that we kind of needed Beckerman against Costa Rica (which is something I never thought I'd say). When Bradley isn't in the team we need someone in the midfield who can break up play, and Beckerman provides that. He lacks Bradley's savvy, but I think

I'll give you a C minus. I would like to see more references to immigrants, how 'Murica only supports REAL sports, and how lame or

I think you are too generous on the attempt by Corona on EJ's goal. Corona didn't take a quality line to the ball at all. He guessed Omar Gonalez and ended up 2 yards behind Johnson. The reason he couldn't do anything to EJ was because he was too far away and Reyes (#4) blocked him out from EJ.

Actually, doesn't FIFA want both US and Mexico in the World Cup? The Mexico TV market is also huge and actually likely more profitable for futbol. The companies broadcasting in Mexico made $800MM in profits in 2010 from World Cup advertising. That's gotta be way more than ESPN is going to make.

It's a valid opinion within the context of an argument covering the degree of difficulty in qualifying for the World Cup in CONCACAF vs UEFA vs CONMEBOL vs Oceania vs et al.

I'll play along and hypothetically put CONCACAF's contenders in South America and Europe.

They are also better than many of the teams that will be there as they will finish higher and move to the knockout stage ahead of many European teams. I don't understand your point? Sometimes good teams don't qualify (see Mexico currently). Under your notion, no European team will finish behind a CONCACAF team at the

Also CONCACAF teams make it to the knockout round all the time. No one is saying we have a Spain or Brazil in our region, but the notion that we couldn't have teams qualify in UEFA qualifying (when many times CONCACAF teams get farther than European and SA teams at the WC) is laughable.

Most of those UEFA groups are just as poor as this CONCACAF one. CONMEBOL is tough, but the US could qualify in that group.

My favorite fact from all this is that Klinnsman has never lost to Mexico as a player or a coach.

Proud to be an American.

That sounds pretty good, actually.
And it is legit iced tea, since it is homemade.

For sure it isn't all Bradley, he's only one guy on an 11 man team. But he can do something that no one else on the team can, he can hold in midfield and anchor, while still getting forward and linking up with forwards in the final third. It's not that we're losing a talented player (which we definitely are), it's

Donovan and Dempsey are going to have to seriously improve their performances if we're gonna win tonite as well. Dempsey was almost invisible against CR, save a shot off the post, and Donovan was getting beat on the right along with Orozco the entire second half. Let's hope losing their coach makes El Tri even

Getting the excuses in early I see.
