Kim Porter just died from the flu that turned to pneumonia.

Ms. Porter’s death is a cautionary tale about how flu can quickly turn into pneumonia and kill seemingly “healthy” people.  There may also have been other conditions that contributed to the illness and subsequent death.  I fail to see how it’s about race.  

Morbid to say this, but I hope that someone in the stands was shooting video.  Risk is a given in all kinds of racing, but it hits hard when something like this happens.  RIP

I refuse to watch the races held in these countries. I’ll watch a 5 minute highight reel afterward, but they won’t get my ratings. This is the best way to protest, especially if you’re in the US.  Four races are held in authoritarian countries out of the entire season.  It’s ok to sleep in those mornings.
