Paul Williams is a goddamned national treasure

Deafheaven is AOTY for me, easily. 

I saw YOB play most of their new album live a few months ago. Such a killer show. Easily my favorite album of the year.

I really loved Deafheaven’s album this year. Probably my favorite yet.

You could probably do an entire book of haunting Magnetic Fields lyrics, but I’ve always been partial to “Busby Berkeley Dreams”:

Other good parts from “Somebody that I used to know” are But that was love and it’s an ache I still remember and Now and then I think of all the times you screwed me over / But had me believing it was always something that I’d done, which really can be applied to many kind of toxic relationships, not just romantic…

Somebody I Used to Know is such a fucking depressing song, and for some idiotic reason I have heard it played at non less than 3 weddings. 

they used Book of Love in a south park episode and i watched it... probably 10 times because the song really just brings the whole thing together

Given that Rocksteady has been called out here a couple of times, I’ll give props to her cover of Elton John’s Border Song (Holy Moses).  She sells the gospel of it a little better than Reginald did.
