That really only works if everybody knows who he is. The built-in audience for Major Matt Mason is 50 pushing through 60 years old. The younger movie going audience will only see it as a remake of “Space Cowboys”
I love Tom Hanks and Major Matt Mason is super cool, but I think Tom’s a tad too old to play the title role unless it ends up being animated.
I don’t think he submits his work on floppies. The “writing” computer isn’t connected to anything (Internet, Printer, externals) to make sure that sure that nothing can infect his computer and destroy ongoing work. He transfers his work to another computer via floppy disks to send out.
Technically it was a capybara.
Totally Agree. I really wanted to see the Tin Tin movie until I saw what they did with the characters. Cartoon characters do not need to be rendered so that you can see their pores! The preview of the new Lupin III movie made me happy. The characters may be 3D computer animations, but they look exactly like the ones I…
Yes, but most of the streaming services are U.S. based only. A lot of the specialty shows are on network TV or different cable services in Canada. Like Star Trek Discovery is on SPACE (as was Battlestar Galactica) and most of the WB shows are on CTV.
Wow. I didn’t even realize that this was already airing. No network or service has picked it up in Canada yet. It may be because the show has already been canceled by WB.
I don’t remember the Swamp thing and Blue Devil ever crossing paths in the comics when I was reading them way back when, but that definitely looks like his mask before it got magiced onto his body permanently.
He’s been caught and charged. Only for the crime on the video, so other victims may need to come forward.
I agree with all your points but most especially the last one. I was getting sick of seeing almost daily articles about Discovery, but nothing much about The Tick, The Orville, and many of the other great series happening on TV and Netflix (Where’s the love for Captain Underpants and The Dragon Prince?)
I’m at work so I can’t really watch the video, but it sounds a lot like a short story written by Bud Sparhawk for Analog back in 2015. In “Delivery” the narrator starts getting extra things in his online orders. Things he really needs, so the algorithms are really good. Then he gets a huge order of survival equipment…
It shows how old I am, but I always thought the Spindrift from Land of the Giants was really cool.
Uncanny Valley. Just watching the GIF at the beginning of the article made me think that the kids aren’t any more alive than the elephant. Those cold dead eyes...
There have been at least two Hot Wheels TV shows, and apparently a made-for-TV movie. All of them were forgettable.
I’m just disappointed that the cover for each book isn’t in the article. While I agree that I’m not inclined to jump into a new series or a long ongoing one, a good cover can change my mind. Or at least read the whole entry. As QWC implied, when I hit the words “series, trilogy, installment” I shift down to the next…
New episodes don’t constitute a reboot. Woody’s redesign from the 40s to the fifties was significant, but I don’t think they even called it a reboot back then.
Thanks. I did some search and found another movie I wanted. The Return to Oz movie was great, and I only had that one on VHS as well..
I managed to get a lot of his work on video tape, which I can’t realyy watch anymore. The only thing that made it to DVD was the Claymation holiday specials. I would love to get the Mark Twain movie on DVD. It was the reason for my searching out and reading Mark Twain’s classic works.
