I only pay for one streaming service. My neighbours alternate, bing-watching on one service and then cancelling it, opening an account with another service and binging again. You don’t have to pay $85 a month if you’re okay with picking and choosing as new stuff gets released.

Every short story written by Joyce Carol Oates that I’ve read in the past three years has been pretty misogynistic, so if writers can be that way, why not directors?

Reminds me of the Micronauts. No, not the Marvel comics version. There were three novels by Gordon M. Williams before the comics version and this was the exact concept, although I think the characters in the books got reduced down to a couple of inches tall, not 6 to 8 inches like they seem to be here.

Great story. I guess it was a good thing they went in that direction, what with the best seller thing that happened (before everyone else got on the bandwagon too!).

I’ve mentioned my love of his collaborations with Larry Niven on another list. I think that Lucifer’s Hammer was among the first science fiction novels I read. It was a great introduction to the genre.

Rest in peace Len. Also, in case no one has mentioned it, Jerry Pournelle also passed on Friday as well. I loved the books he co-authored with Larry Niven.

Movie clip works better for movie article (D’oh!)

That time when Antman went inside Iron Man (eww - that sounds icky).

In our current political climate - nothing is sacred.

I hate that publishers of anthology series or ‘best of’ collections rarely include that titles/contents. It would be nice to look up the Matherson collection and find out what stories are included, specially since I’ve read a number and want to know if it’s worthwhile adding it to my “to-read” list.

The “they’re so different it’s obvious” argument isn’t really the problem.

I think breaking it up was because everyone in the world can get Amazon Prime for free for on month and now they finally have a reason to supscribe.

Strict rules?

When I read the headline it made me think of a quip from my high-school history teacher.

My next-door-neighbor surprised me. She said that they subscribe for one month to Netflix or some other service and binge. Then they cancel and move onto another service. They might only use Netflix two or three time a year.

The Tick...

New voices (the old ones were avaiable) they removed Miss Bellum is missing from the show. The the girls’ teacher Ms. Keane had a mysterious double mastectomy (apparently she was too sexy for today’s youth?). Most of ther stories revolve around the classroom and home instead of adventuring and fighting villains.

I’d be cautious of making statements like “Today’s Cartoons Are the Best They’ve Ever Been”. The new Powerpuff Girls remake is proof that some studios get it wrong just as often as they get it right.
