I really like The Middle and The Goldbergs. This week I agree completely with Will's review. What I don't understand is why this was posted at 2:05 am. I used to think these reviews were posted so late because he is doing double duty. But this is a review of the one half hour that shows at 7pm Central. No different

I had a GREAT day. Crisp and sunny in Chicago in my beautiful apt overlooking the best skyline from the West Loop. Went for a walk, talked to my husband who is unfortunately in the hosptial. Made Eggs Benedict. Turned on WFMT and listened to the regular Saturday live broadcast from the Metropolitan Opera— Simon

So let me get this straight.

I loved the Broadway mashup of A Delicate Balance which starred Lithgow and Close and This is our Youth which starred Cera. But the kicker was Broderick who starred in the play called This Is Just a Play— all this past season. We don't often get Broadway meta around here. Anyway…it's crack to theater geeks like me.

Marvel Studios not going to Comic-Con. Oh sorry- "maybe".

FURTIVE WHISPER!! I know. I feel like an idiot. Stupid clicks happen to nice people.

What a wonderful episode. For me, the theme really came through in two quotes:

SIr, please understand this: I am hating it because it's NOT Modern Family. That is my point. This episode is NOT Modern Family. It's something SO different as to be otherworldly. Something that it's NOT meant to be. It's trying to be something it is simply not built to be. It's not the Web, it's not my Iphone, it's

Community was built on celebrating and subverting the tropes of tv, specifically those of episodic sitcom. Modern Family is not. It is straightforward, mainstream, network and ad—driven middle brow entertainment. It is effective and good at that. It is not good at being COMMUNITY.

That actually sounds very nice Thank you. Mmmm.

No No NO NO NO!!! If I wanted a webisode or Web Therapy or any other thing you can get on the web or cable, I wouldn't tune in to fuckin ABC at 8pm on a Wed for an episode of Tab-Shifting, trend-chasing, Crap-Cam-tastic, static piece of shit!!. The moment I realized the opening would not shift to real camera work, I

This is one batshit crazy show. Viola Davis is intense.

This was a fun episode. It didn't further any storyline much or develop any character much— except to let us know Marvin's first memory. But it was fun— in a gimmicky way.
