You were the opposite of wrong - you were extremely correct! Not only is it NOT an urban myth, it is a tiny fact that has been in circulation for decades!

I’m not an expert on the Grease wardrobe - I’ve just read about these broken-zipper pants many many times. Evidently they are still newsworthy.
