Whatever Earthworm Jim does right or wrong, it’s still one of the most memorable games from the Genesis era. I was never able to beat it, but that didn’t stop me from trying! I did however manage to beat Toejam & Earl 2, another unconventional platformer from that era.

This is weirdly inspiring.

Also, I don’t get all the salt, even from commenters here. People seem personally offended that he dared release something that most people think is crappy. Who’s it hurting? He’s not being deceptive about it. If you don’t think it’s worth $13 (frankly I don’t either), then don’t buy it.

for a 2 person team that has other jobs and this is something they do in the spare time for most likely their own kids, it’s not bad. I understand the hate with regards to pricing, but It’s clearly not meant for everyone and I don’t understand why ripping on a guy that’s clearly just doing what he loves.

Hm interesting. I have thought about something like this myself so I amy try this out.

HDR is providing you with many more contrasts, allowing for more details. It doesn’t impeove the graphics or the resolution.

Depends on the game, and what you’re looking at. FFXV didn’t have a big difference IMO. I was disappointed in Rise of the Tomb Raider too. But Horizon was really noticeable. I’m playing Injustice 2 right now and I can see a difference.

I have the KS8000, 55". Try turning the HDR off and on in areas with good lighting.

It really depends on the game. HDR implementation in games is a lot different, it is very much about what they devs are willing to do with it. Games like Infamous Second Son you might not see the difference right away, there is better detail in the lighting effects, use the neon power and take a screenshot then turn

Keep in mind that, while the Xbox One S and PS4 Pro (and many computer GPUs) support HDR, very few games currently take advantage of that support. If the game isn’t specifically coded to output HDR visuals, you’re not going to see much of a difference in picture quality on your HDR TV.

Yes! It does have good HDR! To get it though, you have to go into the settings and enable “UHD color” for the input you are using with a UHD/HDR signal. If you are using the internal apps, like Netflix, HDR will be enabled automatically when you select a title with that content.

I have the ks8000 and it does have pretty good HDR. I also have mine calibrated based on guides I saw online. Note that not every game will look insanely better with HDR, I’ve seen some games improve more than others. You should be able to turn off HDR in the TV settings (I think on ks8000 it’s called UHD deep color

I only bought one because my old TV died. 4K netflix is nice, I guess.

Really fun game, it’s like Nuclear Throne combat and level structure but with Diablo color coded loot for weapons and replacement robot parts for your new metal body.

Now playing
