The fact that it was a slam dunk on paper made it even more disappointing how dull and lifeless it was.

Exactly, the subtext of 'problematic' to me is 'this bothers me, but I'm not quite sure why, and I'm not really gonna do anything about it.'
'Problematic' and 'gross' both need to be put to rest as descriptors.
Both Abbi and Ilana got Birdman style scenes at work.
My favourite part about The Sopranos is that they defied my movie/tv pet peeve of people being at a restaurant or having a meal but not actually touching the food (which I understand is often just for ease of continuity but it grinds my gears). Tony and the boys will put matters of life and death on hold for a…
There's an ad for it one of those sidewalk signs right near where I live, that I walk by every day, and its just his stupid mug with the name of the movie, and no other information. And I've heard/seen literally nothing else about it.
I know there's not going to be regular reviews, but I was hoping for another comments section tonight to see what people thought.
"I'm gonna be honest with you Lisa, I never did the test."
PTA doesn't do a lot of press, but when he does he's always come off as a pretty down to earth guy. I loved how him and Maron pretty much said 'I love you' to each other at the end.
I get that, but its not really 'haha' funny. I was expecting something a little more outlandish to close out the film, especially considering the rest of it didn't shy away from sight gags and slapstick.
What exactly was so funny about the heroin scene? I was specifically waiting for something hilarious because of this review, but it never came.
Generalizing that Canadian's turned on Jian but haven't on Bill seems extremely unfair. The only reason he did shows in buttfuck Ontario was because they were the only ones who didn't cancel, which apparently means all of Canada is completely ok with him. Had he still done shows in the US the crowd reactions would've…
Whiplash was actually the first movie in a while that I've seen and afterwards said 'that was some damn good editing.' Its not super flashy or gimmicky (it obviously relies on the music a lot), but the timing and pacing of it is impeccable.
His view of the music industry in general seems to be stuck around 1995.
Eh, I figured as much. Carry on.
Am I alone in really not liking Jessica Chastain? I find her completely hammy, and in interviews she comes off as a total doofus (not in a fun way). I groan a little whenever she's in an otherwise great looking movie like this one…which is annoying since, as you said, she's in everything.
Watching Danny Devito slowly go senile on TV is one of the great pleasures of the 21st century.
Not even sure if it counts as jazz, but that's my favourite Miles album (Miles Smiles is close behind). Such a sublime atmosphere. I've always loved it but I had a really soul expanding drug experience with two close friends (one now my girlfriend) while listening to it so its got an even fonder place in my heart.
I admire the positive attitude, but does he even know what he means by 'party' anymore? I picture the sarcastic kids at Lollapalooza on the Simpsons whenever he talks.
Try working in a bar where drunk idiots frequently sing along to Livin' On A Prayer, and you will change your mind very quickly. Drunk dudes think they can hit the high notes in the chorus, but they never can, creating the most horrendous discordant blast to your eardrums. Then what happens in the last chorus? It goes…
