I swear there is a special section of hell reserved for people who go around saying the iPad is 'just a toy'. Is it very enjoyable to use, and maybe primarily used for leisure? Yes. But people also use them to write, edit photos and video and music, and all sorts. I accept it might not be the best thing in the world

No, come on, there are distinctive things Apple has done which Samsung has copied here. Most notably eschewing multiple ports like almost every other Android tablet has for a single dock connector, which i'm guessing helps save space but nevertheless makes it seem very Apple-y and minimal.

It's not a review.

I hate the current design of those software buttons. They're too stylised and it's not obvious enough what each one does. I found myself missing physical buttons, even though I totally get why Google got rid of them.

You actually got the Xoom screen turned on, then? Congrats - you beat me.

Well, they do seem to keep getting better...

I love this post. Gizmodo is capable of talking about these damn contraptions like things actual people actually buy, rather than just reeling off specs.

You have a weird definition of 'everyone'.

Won't, though. They're pretty blunt about using the Nano to introduce moms & pops to multi-touch.

Meh. Could just be before clip is added.

Incidentally Google Docs can now host videos with playback in the browser, so that's another option if you don't want to use YT for any reason (length being the most obvious)

If I recall correctly this is a return to the original focus for Google Video. It started off as a search engine, not just of online video but TV transcripts, bizarrely. Then it started accepting uploads not long before the YT purchase; it was a blip, really.

Meh. YouTube uses Google accounts; just put it in the relevant person's YT account, unlisted, or create one for them on their google account. As long as the videos aren't made visible till the person chooses.

@huh989: I've got it giant-sized on the site too, I'm on the uk. version (like ca.) Cor, noisy pic, isn't it?

Seems kinda crappy. Can't handle 'Time in London', which generates a dedicated answer in Google search.

Speaking of orgies, I'm having real trouble deciding with Garret Headwound is hot or not.

I actually have a twitter list called 'nerds& hipsters'. On twitter it's extreeeeeemely hard to tell the difference.

Also: with the advent of email attachments, filesystem is coming to iOS, whether it likes it or not.

Whenever Jesus talks about the Great Leap from the desktop metaphor to a program-based system I'm amused by the irony - wasn't the last big system to run in a program-led way... Windows 3.1?

@Elpon: There was supposed to be some plan where we dump a load of algae in Venus' atmosphere to eat up the CO2 and BAM! New Earth. Got me very excited when I was eight.
