I’m sure that it’s quite difficult to meaningfully communicate with the hospital staff right now. Even if the catheter comes out, she should be eligible for some services. If by some chance it doesn’t happen on discharge, they can do it over the telephone afterwards or her own physician can order it for her as well.

That’s tough. I hope that you have the best possible outcome. Her insurance (Medicare or otherwise) should have a home health benefit that you can access. A visiting Nurse, Social Worker, Aide & Therapies are routinely done in home. Her hospital Case Manager should be able to arrange this so it may be worth asking…
