“Fellas” works too!
I’ve lived in Barna (not Barça, that’s the soccer team’s abbreviation) for 5 years. The city is, geographically, very small in comparison to U.S. and even other European cities. Although, I wouldn’t suggest it, you *can* walk from Ciutat Villa (Old City, where Gotico, Born, Raval, Barceloneta, etc.) up to Tibidabo…
allligators and crocodiles are different species. an alligator unfortunately drowned that toddler - https://eu.usatoday.com/story/news/nation-now/2017/08/09/toddler-killed-alligator-near-disney-resort-honored-statue/553497001/. circumstances are relevant, but just like deforestation & gentrification... Florida gators…
I flipped my ‘98 4Runner to Autobiography <3 (excepting the totaled SUV, no beings were injured).
In the year of our Lord 2011, in our nation’s capital (Wash, obvi; I’m an expat) on the 4th of July, Ryan Cabrera was HEADLINING a party called “Red, White, & Boom.” To this day, people believe that I made out with Ryan Cabrera because.... why would my drunk ass NOT make up a ridiculous statement? I definitely was…
I’m on your side, CatLady. I didn’t even know that Marchesa was backed by Weinstein until this scandal broke. I follow fashion, not movies. The last movie I saw in theaters was Avatar, over Christmas break one year in college, and my father kept waking me up, shrieking, “I paid $12 for you to watch this in 3D” (he…
It is a *weird* way to protest. As a U.S. ex-pat in Barcelona, who is fiercely Unidos (United Spain), married to a Catalan who was pro-independencia until he has already felt the economic impact on his business, I can provide a firsthand account that Catalan protests, marches, rallies, etc., are rarely well thought…
As the moniker indicates, Barcelona resident here (married to a Catalan). I’ve never once heard rithtoraunte, but I do agree that Catalan sounds nothing - nothing - like Spanish (and, I prefer South American Spanish, where z isn’t “th” and enunciation exists, over castellaño).
I am from the deep South - this mother fucker’s district, in fact - and I’ve legiterally NEVER heard this phrase.
I’m 28 and I had to Urban Dictionary it. I’m hungover just imagining getting crossfaded 17 times in the span of 3 months.
As the alias implies, I live in Barcelona. I got married to Mr. Barkce this Friday (wheee) and am not changing my name nor does anyone expect it. No one in Spain takes their partner’s surname so it’s pretty grand. That being said because of the traditional naming system, children end up with two surnames (father’s…
Y’all... REALLY??? Killing the wolves is the SOLUTION? Let’s eradicate them, then reintroduce them because the elk fuck the population, THEN KILL THEM AGAIN BC WHY THE FUCK NOT??? Why NOT actually suggest something positive instead lamenting the plight of a goddamn asshole who thinks suffering is acceptable?
did not show* (ugh, it’s 1am, and I need to sleep before typing)
My pup did not notice any visible signs of pressure change. He also will let me cut his toenails, brush his teeth, and bathe him without protest, and when the vet gives him shots, he doesn’t flinch. So, perhaps the pressure felt uncomfortable, but I don’t think it was painful enough to be of concern. So, if she…
It depends entirely on the dog. Perhaps try test runs first. Take her on a metro line or bus route that permits dogs. Take her to loud areas: farmers’ markets, outdoor concerts, carnivals — anywhere loud and crowded where you can test her reaction. I knew my dog would be fine on our 10 hour transatlantic flight…
I moved my 100 pound Doberman from the East Coast to Spain two years ago. When you get into international flights, there are way more complications then simply whether you’ve got a carrier for your pet. It was a disaster. My husband has discussed splitting our time in Atlanta and Barcelona so both sets of grandparents…
