I HATED Conspiracy
I was someone who loved TOS in syndication — when my brother and I were kids and they would show scenes from other episodes during the end credits, we would shout out the names of those episodes — and was actively looking forward to TNG, but by the time the end of the first season rolled around, I

I think that's because Walt's intellectual appreciation for the game that Gus was playing outweighs any emotional attachment he has for Hank.

Anna Gunn FTW
The "confession" scene was as intense in its own way as the Hank shootout and the RV standoff. It was chilling because she's totally decided to spin the entire situation towards her favor without becoming a kept wife, a la Carmela Soprano.

I've often wondered if it was some kind of Whedonverse homage that they named their annoying, whiny, insufferable junior Watcher "Wesley" as well?

I Was SO Excited for This
A new Star Trek! With a whole new cast! After 15 years of Trek fandom and devotion, it was going to be so fucking great. A faster starship! New uniforms! The freedom of NOT being a network show!

Not So Implausible
My wife, who grew up in a high-school football intense town not unlike Dillon ('cept that it was in California) said to me that when she was in school, the newly-mined cross town rivals used to totally own the long-time powerhouse.

Remember When Heroes was Good?
Those were the days.

Without Moving?
Wait a second! Robert kills telepathically? Without moving?

BTW, I completely agree that those two problems with S5 did NOT stop me from enjoying it nearly as much as the other four seasons.

Life of Brian, by a whisker. I can quote whole swaths of both films, but Life of Brian had the extra added advantage of not just the coherent-ish storyline, but being a more cogent political and social satire.

Stephen Root!
I think that what makes "Complaint Box" probably my all-time favorite episode of Newsradio is simply Stephen Root's voice work. (Which, of course, has long been in effect in "King of the Hill")

Jack The Ripper, Really?
Even at 12, when I first saw this, I thought that the whole Jack the Ripper thing was utterly absurd. I mean, positing him a some kind of evil spirit that hops planets and kills is fine, but it always seemed like the worst kind of dues ex ripina kind of ending.

Jesse & Jane's Balance of Power
I think that Jesse is actually more out of his depth in his relationship with Jane than he ever was dealing drugs. Jane (and when did Krysten Ritter get so hot? because she wasn't on either Gilmore Girls or Veronica Mars) is obviously miles more sophisticated and is way out of his

Wrath of Khan 25+ Years Later
It's weird how "Wrath of Khan" has aged so well. At the time, it felt like a definite rebound compared to the dreary, dreadful Star Trek: The Motion Picture. (Which, now that I think about it, announced that self-seriousness that Zack talks about just from the title.)

Yeah, I also loved Riley's singing to the crew. It was so annoying that it went right around the other side and became funny again.

I'll agree that Wild Gift is their best album, but it's also one of the best albums of the whole decade.

There has never been a moment in the past 30-odd years or so where I didn't love the shit out of The Who, Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones and The Kinks.

One of my favorite scenes in any rock doc is DJ Bonebrake in The Unheard Music showing how he does a bunch of different beats at the same time.

I was going to add

Wow @B.
