Big fan here too, that monster looks like Deviljho-sized, not really a problem to me (it’s probably because FOV is different and the camera is a lot closer to the hunter than in previous MH). This trailer was made to show new things only, I’m certain that the actual weapon-related gameplay will be the one we know.

Me too, from a purely gameplay POV though. Like, having a battle system that’s slow but tactical, accounts for timing, positioning, where and when you’re gonna hit (or be hit), encourage build diversity and experimentation, favours player skill and not (only) what gear you have. If there’s also a nice world to explore

What if this is like the first car you can get and, later, you get stuff to go offroad? Like new cars, upgrades or whatever. It’s like this in many FF, gradually opening up the map for the player.

This looks spectacular, and - finally - a fresh approach.

Two words: Chester Copperpot.

Probably not, but Valve is, I guess.

Well, Valve said that the game was "pushed" 50.000 years in the future (as GLaDOS itself says in the game), to make the two games not "linkable" in any way... which is a shame, personally.
