@bsonline001: I went through that wizard, and had no problems once I removed that string. I agree though, Apple could easily move and/or get rid of it.

@bsonline001: Hahaha the hack I'm using allows activation, but Gizmodo never reported on it. It's not new (its from the 4.0 beta days), but it works.

Navigate to /Library/System/CoreServices/SystemVersion.plist, remove the version string in it's entirety, and enjoy your activated iDevice (without using a UDID).
