Meanwhile, I have 4 iPod classics that I’ve converted to SD storage, and changed the batteries on. I expect they’ll run forever.

YOU HAVE BEEN VARNED ABOUT MENTIONING ZEE AUDIO JACK! DAS IST VERBOTEN!
Apple pointedly notes that it sells a bunch of other devices that do all of the same stuff that the iPod Touch does,
That's the spirit!
Used car dealers are such a pain in the ass that a lot of people are willing to lose a lot of money simply for the convenience of not having to deal with one.
A definite must see for me.
Delightful. John Astin is a treasure.
In my mind-canon, Westworld was a 10-episode limited series that aired in 2016. There was never any Westworld beyond those 10 episodes.
Contemporary critics also thought Hitchcock’s movies were just going for cheap thrills and shock value, iirc.
And this is all set 150,000 years in the past...
Westworld has a wildly out of sync ratio of show quality to star power. It’s almost a perverse joke that all these great actors have to continue doing whatever it is this time. Killing a bunch of rich folks while failing to actually upset the system that created/perpetuates robot slavery, if I had to guess.
Given that it aired during the height of the lockdowns, the third season’s cratering viewership was truly notable. And, unfortunately, also well deserved.
Scorsese took a lean and efficient film from Hong Kong (Infernal Affairs), pumped it full of bloat and finished it with a scene so on the nose that even The Simpsons took a shot at it.
It’s snobbery. It’s snobbery whether it’s the MCU or NSYNC, and it forgets the history of rock and hip-hop, that both genres were once considered not real art or real music either by people with sticks up their ass about how their specific corner of pop-culture was somehow better and more real. And the same goes for…
Raiders of the Lost Ark and the first 2 Star Wars films have way more artistic value than most other films released the same year. I don’t think the Marvel films have reached that kind of quality so far - or even the quality of The Dark Knight - but it’s not the genre’s fault. It’s good that Olsen gets that.
Obligatory independent arthouse multiverse movie mention.
The urge to “other” Marvel movies is just peak elitism, and I just wish the people who advocate it would have the balls to own that elitism.
Look, if my personality isn’t the sum of the media I consume, why am I consuming that media?
Can we just...not do this every damn time a Marvel movie comes out? No, Marvel movies are not high art. Yes, it’s okay to like them. No, just because they’re popular doesn’t mean they suck. Yes, it’s a shame that all studios are interested in making these days is superhero movies. No, Spider-Man shouldn’t win an Oscar…
