It’s is a great deal for the drivers. They get paid a steady, hourly wage. I’ve asked every Via driver if they prefer driving for Uber or Via, and they all say Via. They all dislike the unpredictability of what you’ll be paid with Uber, Lyft, etc.

This was an awesome episode of Planet Money. I highly recommend this podcast in general - it’s the only one I consistently listen to week in and week out. Probably has to do with the fact that most episodes are 15-20 minutes long, so I can usually finish them in one sitting. Podcasts like This American Life are great…
