"Bolt hole! Now a hole for a bolt!"
I'm all for Vastra and Jenny being as gratuitously happy and affectionate as any married couple can and should be. But yeah! In that scene? It seemed really strangely out of place. It was clunky and awkward. They really should have cut it and given us more of Strax interacting with Clara - that's always entertaining.
And still others are angered by the fact that Sam has been the victim of an apparent double standard, wherein high-profile draftees like Johnny Manziel—white, rich, and straight—are celebrated for racking up endorsements and Instagramming themselves holding fistfuls of cash while Sam, who grew up in extreme poverty…
You're totally right; the way in which he has turned down most of his sponsorship opportunities, canceled the reality documentary after negative feedback, performed well in the preseason, and given one interview since being drafted by the Rams (in which he talked about how performing well in the preseason gave him…
Seems that his teammates, unlike you and the people on ESPN at this moment, are not overly concerned with Sam's shower habits.
This is not him being a distraction. This is ESPN making him seem like a distraction in the way that only ESPN can (which is the worst way possible). Kindly shut the fuck up.
she asked defensive tackle Kendall Langford and linebacker Alec Ogletree about Sam's showering schedule, and they told her that they weren't tracking it.
Regarding the deer, I thought it was a nice touch that the light that Kevin sees above the deer at the beginning of the episode was revealed to be the shimmer from the "It's a Girl" balloon. Heavy heavy symbolism there, as it is very likely that the balloon being trapped in the deer's antlers were what was making it…
Primer is a movie with a very interesting premise, but it's told in the worst possible fashion. If you need a chart to follow a movie's plot, it's a bad movie. The one job of a movie is to tell a story, and Primer fails at that task totally.
xkcd got it absolutely right.
Big Trouble in Little China
I know I am a Jill-defender, but can we seriously give the MVP award for this episode to Margaret Qualley? I totally bought her as a happy go lucky teen. It was almost jarring to see her like that, but great to have her character fleshed out a bit more.
And we came full circle on the deer, too. Kevin's apparent hallucination of the deer being hit by a car was actually a bit of memory, almost like the day of the Departure calling back to him.
I found this episode to be one of the best of the season. I was floored by the moment when Nora yells at her daughter for spilling the juice, sending her daughter into a tearful breakdown, only to hear the silence we all knew was coming descend, and see the orange juice dripping off of the table. I audibly gasped,…
The greatest feat that this episode produced was in making Jill a likable character.
I've gotta disagree on the end of this article commenting on how this episode felt like a dip. This was easily one of my favorite episodes of this show so far. (The episode following Christopher Eccleston's character was my favorite.) This Sunday's episode was such a jarring departure for so many characters, and as…
Two thoughts:
I wasn't really feeling Capaldi/Twelve until the diner scene with Clara. Finally some personality for her and it was nice to see the Doctor banter with a companion again after so long. It reminded of how well Amy and Eleven clicked together so this is good news on the companion/Doctor chemistry this series. I…
Here's a big problem with the episode:
Here are some of my thoughts on the episode:
