I’m sorry you have to go through this. People are idiots, I had an old lady stand next to me, with her mask on her chin smirking at me the whole time, like she was daring me to tell her something. I just shook my head and moved away from her, I did not need her potentially infected ass shouting all over the place.

I can’t imagine a good reason why cashiers and other essential workers wouldn’t be next, but the government seemingly exists just to surprise me.

Please tell me cashiers are next in line after after old people and Doctors/health care workers. The customers at work, especially the ones without masks, keep walking around the barrier to stand right f*cking next to me while I scan their order like their trying to get me infected.

I do trust that the vaccines are safe. But this does reek of, “Our vaccine is totally not racist because a black woman worked on it.” What gives me skepticism isn’t the vaccines themselves, but the transport and proper handling at vaccination stations.

So? A black woman also worked on the Tuskegee Experiment.

Um..so what? It’s cool that a sister worked on it and everything, but so what? People will take it when they’re good and ready and you’ll just have to deal.

Yeah but in this context, black folks being suspicious of going first and being guinea pigs for US government science, makes way more logical sense. It’s probably partially misplaced, but still...
