I think it’s this idea of black women feeling they don’t get to be perceived as feminine the way white women are. I just don’t know that Will Smith’s macho act is the right way to respond to that.

Lol, so the fact that I am saying that Dems are not satisfying their base, black Americans means I’m the reason they’ll lose? Wouldn’t that maybe be Dems not being able to do things that turn out black voters for them? But I guess shoot the messenger is easier.

That’s been a long term problem of having so much information coming at us. The lack of centralized authority can be a good thing but could go bad in many ways, like we’ve seen in last few years.

Thing is people already do that. Look at the number of people who think Jan. 6 was either staged or went differently than what is clearly on video.

The genie was out of the bottle before deepfakes. We literally live in a society where people will refuse to believe their own eyes and will hew to “alternative facts”.

Given how little he won his Senate seat by, doesn’t seem like he can even fire up rednecks that well.

Ted Cruz was always quite bad but seems to just be getting worse and worse over time.

The weird thing is that if this had been say Neve Campbell’s white male husband slapping Chris Rock, the exact people on Twitter now defending Will Smith would be decrying this of proof of like “white people’s entitlement to be violent toward black people”.

All the excuses you’ve made for Biden about how he hasn’t had enough time and things will get better and his approval rating will with it were made a year ago last summer and things have still not reversed.

What happens in the (relative) privacy of a family reunion is a little different than on national tv at the Oscars.

I thought we’d all agreed on that until I got on Twitter today.

And a joke that Smith himself laughed at.

The guy got slapped in the face on national tv, had every right to actually defend himself from violence but kept it moving to not make an important night for so many a sideshow. Yet according to Twitter and some on here, he’s the one who is classless.

Also, if it was a white man who had slapped Chris Rock, the exact same people on Twitter defending Will Smith would’ve been tearing that white dude apart.

Saying someone looks like GI Jane? How is that even a negative? Since when did GI Jane become this awful thing to be compared to?

Says the person who just commented about how having alopecia could make you more likely to have anxiety as if it’s the worst thing one could wish on a person.

Yes, so if Rock had mocked her having some spots not growing and some spots growing a ton, that would’ve been one thing. But he literally made a joke about her having a shaved head like GI Jane. Point is, this isn’t like someone has cancer. It’s a condition that’s effects go from the stigma, and now the people

If this article had said “the majority of black women” instead of just “to be black and a woman” that would have made sense. But it wrote what it did on an article about a show which is why people responded.

You found an op ed, an article from Newsweek, a joke of a publication, something that only covers Biden’s first 100 days in office, and an article that talks about Biden’s disappointments along with his accomplishments. But let’s be fair and look at those accomplishments. We have the economic recovery that started

Yes, denying an accredited study’s results, as you’d see Vilsack did if you read the article, is the very definition of climate science denial. This is no different than if Trump were to say coal miners were unfairly blamed. And this is literally a line from the piece you cited that you somehow think looks good for
