I was looking forward to this, but this review makes me cautious. Even if the show is good, HBO doesn't seem to have much faith in this project. When was the last time they dumped something on Wednesday night? I hope to find it rewarding because I really like Emily Mortimer and wish she had a better outlet for her

I definitely get the lack of spark there. Again, while I think it's a great show I never really connected with the characters on the same level that I came to care for the characters in Buffy or Angel. I think Firefly was going for a different feel than those two other shows, which is fine, but it's the reason I never

Not that I'm saying this piece is contrarian, in fact it doesn't seem to say much at all. I was just commenting on the sheer level of articles I've seen about VMars this weekend.

I'm not saying that is not valid that people write about this type of movie given the novelty of it and the fact that VM has a passionate following. However, so many of the pieces I've read are merely trying to be contrarian for contrarianism's sake. So much so that it ends up feeling like the pieces are being written

That's what some people use to refer to The Dissolve. The Other Site (a.k.a. TOS).

I totally get why people using its cancellation as a way to justify legitimate criticism of the show can be frustrating and I'm not a Browncoat by any standard. I am a fan of Whedon's work in general. Firefly is my second least favorite of his shows, after Dollhouse. But even accounting for that, I think Firefly is

Idk. Arrested Development has never been a standard sitcom, even when it was on network TV. If anything, AD was from the get go a show that benefited from re-watch and the utmost attention of its viewers, even demanded it. I understand if it's not your cup of tea, but I thought the narrative structure of the season

Same!

Loved it, partly because it was a reunion with characters I loved from the FOX show, partly because it was it's own thing in terms of the narrative structure. Also, found it funnier than any other show on TV last year.

Eh, I mostly loved the new season of Arrested Development and would much rather have it than not. It in no way tarnished the reputation of the show for me, even though that's not the en vogue opinions in this side of the woods.

I actually watched in the order in which it aired, even though I caught onto the show after it had aired its finale. I thought the placement of the prequel worked great at re-contextualizing the characters right before we launch into the post-season 1 finale events.

Nah, I actually thought what was produced was pretty high caliber.

And we've reached the point of over-saturation on Veronica Mars think-pieces. Between this and the piece on TOS today, I'm exhausted.

Jens Albinus, who plays Stoffer in The Idiots, makes an appearance in Nymphomaniac and once again lets his member hang out for Lars.

Not only is the final scene one of the most devastating in contemporary cinema, but the scene where Jeppe and Josephine first kiss is deeply weird and yet totally romantic. Since this is von Trier, we also get a very sad moment when Jeppe and Josephine are separated later in the film. I guess what I'm trying to say

This episode gave us Alicia doing this:

I'm so glad they didn't have Alicia apologize to Will for leaving Lockhart and Gardner. We know she feels conflicted about it from the peek we were allowed into her thinking process this week. Having her say it out loud would have felt like a compromise of everything she's worked for. And quite frankly, Alicia doesn't

Jackie is the worst even as a figment of Alicia's imagination and Mary Beth Peil plays her perfectly. To think that she was Jen's stern but adoring grandmother in Dawson's Creek.

Are you doing these on a regular basis? Season 1 of Felicity is the reason I fell in love with television and I would love to follow along with your reviews.

Also, I'll say this for the movie, Duncan Kane (a.k.a. the worst) doesn't make an appearance so there's that. I tend to like Piz a lot more this days by thinking that he's Derrick from Enlisted.
