I’m fucking furious that these assholes have the gall to pretend teachers aren’t the backbone of so many communities. The teachers in my kids school are so much more than educators- they’re surrogate families and providers of food, nutrition, comfort and emotional support.

They pack lunch for kids here in the summer when school is out too. To ensure some kids get at least one nutritious meal a day. It breaks my heart. Those poor kids.

And clothes and shoes and backpacks too. My mom’s school has a program where they send home canned food on the weekends so that kids get to eat when they’re at home.

I can’t stand the fact that people criticize teachers for “wasting taxpayer money.” It seems like most people tend to think that teachers only work from the first bell to the last bell but they could not be more wrong.
