Right, but the whole point of the article is that they did not leave their children to die in a hot car because they were “busy at work.” I’m surprised that’s all you got out of Gene Weingarten’s work on this subject.

Only the most hubristic of people think this couldn’t happen to them. I am generally against charging these cases unless you can prove the child was forgotten on purpose. These parents suffer so greatly after. It’s harrowing.
I remember one morning with my youngest I was so damn tired. Just exhausted. He was about 6 months old. Maybe a little older? I was on autopilot and I was just driving to work. I was about a block away from the office and he made a cooing noise - a gurgle or something - after having been super quiet the whole way to…
This, I believe, is every parent’s secret nightmare.
I think that WaPo article should be required reading for everyone.
i’ll stop wearing black when they make a darker color.
You are not missing out. I’ve seen most of his films(which I regret) but after the Hateful 8, I’m done. It was one of the worst movies I’ve ever watched. Not because of his cinematic vision but because of his content. Even when making a film with a female protagonist, he finds a way to objectify and demean her.…
Overrated? sure. Awful? no. Flynn is a damn good writer. Sharp Objects will always be my favorite.
Ben Affleck is a terrible actor, but good God was he the best choice to play Nick in this movie.
Me too. I genuinely thought it was spectacular. I’m a sucker for bright colors, dresses, and Todrick. So aesthetically, it had my number from the beginning. (Also, the framed Cher quote, “Mom, I am a rich man,” basically made me cum in the first fews seconds.) But by the end of the video, I was absurdly moved. It was…
Thank you! I love Chris Pine but Evans should always be #1 if only for his Twitter feed.
Yeah, Pine seems great, but CLEARLY it’s Evans—Hemsworth—Pine.
I just feel like Chris Pine kind of looks...generic? My order:
I have to agree she was great in the Hunger Games and great in Winters Bone. She really needs to go the Reese Witherspoon route and produce her own movies.
Amy Adams should not be on this list and she should have won an Oscar for Enchanted!
Clover why u trolling. The comments will be great at least. Brie Larson, Amy Adams and Emma Watson can totally act, the rest of the list is correct.
i enjoy a wrap dress in theory, in practice my giant boobs always seem to show too much for the dress to be “work appropriate” (yes, we should be able to show any cleavage and be deemed work appropriate, but alas... )
So.... no credit for her fighting for clemency for Alice Marie Johnson or Cyntoia Brown’s cases?? I mean, she can’t solve all the world’s problems, but saying she’s not doing anything constructive is unfair.
Having read the book, I feel that the whole “spark joy” thing overshadowed the actual message of her book and the root of her method, which is just to be more conscious of what you own. Her storage methods center around arranging things so that you can see and access everything without having to move anything around…
The money I borrowed as a barely 18 year old getting advice from guidance counselors and every day Boomers who never had college debt and then watching in horror as the economy they thought would give me a job high-paying enough to pay that debt off crashed a year before I graduated? That money?
