My friend swears by Daiya too.

Yeah, my almond milk goes great in my shakes. I do use unsweetened almond milk but it seems like the flavour profile wouldn’t quite work for mac and cheese. I think there is only one thing to do, make various combinations with different milk types and taste test.

Thanks for sharing! I’ll need to experiment with sheep and goat’s milk too.

How did it turn out?

Thank you for this endorsement! I will look for this at the store tonight.

I’ve actually never tried lactose-free milk- always went straight for soy and now almond. Thanks for the recommendation.

Will almond milk work just as well? I have mild lactose intolerance so whole milk is no good. But I want this mac and cheese.

And what other cheeses would you recommend besides cheddar?

I hate the word folks! I could be wrong, but it seems very US-centric and if I used it in my home country I’d get a lot of puzzled stares.

Oh, nothing. I wrote that the way the OP did, as a catchall for racist, sexist, etc.

I rely on the curious and puzzled route too. I say something like “Why are you saying that?” When ***-ists are asked to justify their bigoted comments, they usually get quiet really fast.

I used to hold in sneezes when in class or a meeting or something, then someone told me that I cause damage by doing that so I switched to sneezing into my sleeve when I don’t have a tissue or hanky handy. Muffles that sneeze right up.

I have been using a facial serum that didn’t really work for my face, on my hands on nights when they need a little extra love. It’s a relatively inexpensive serum from Trader Joe’s and works like a charm.

Ugh, booking a hotel room and paying the same amount all combined? That’s not smart and not worth it.

I didn’t have to get to the airport crazy early and there were no delays. Plus, you’re not immune from missed connections on non-budget airlines. The research doesn’t take hours if you know where to look and what to look for. It’s worth it to me, but if it’s not to you, then don’t do it.

Can I use the liquid Bar Keeper’s Friend instead of the powder?

Great advice. Flying budget airlines requires you put in time to do research. I flew Spirit for the first time earlier this year. Before booking, I verified the arrival and departure airports and terminals, listed down all relevant fees, decided what we would and wouldn’t pay for, decided what kind of luggage to

I won’t be buying any masks or wigs anytime soon, but shit like this is why I always advocate for washing new clothes before wearing them. I know someone who used to work on the floor of a clothing factory. She said that clothes would fall on the floor and get stepped on all the time. Plus, you don’t know who has been

I hope so too. I don’t plan to stop eating meat entirely, but like you I consider where the meat I consume is coming from. Veganism simply isn’t feasible for many people.

Really! Palak paneer, aloo gobi, baigan bartha...mmm. I grew up on all of those and more, but I’m only now getting into cooking them. I don’t quite have my mom’s intuition when it comes to cooking.

I’m working on reducing my meat intake. I can’t remember the last time I had red meat (probably been a few weeks), and I haven’t had any poultry since sometime last week. The key for me is making good satisfying vegetarian options. Cold salads aren’t going to cut it for me, so I’m experimenting with daal (a lentil
