*IMMORTAL COMBAT

Meh, I prefer Billy Graham’s Bible Blaster.

I was absolutely blown away by all the performances in Euphoria.

Euphoria could qualify for a best ensemble award. All the teens, all the parents, and Rue's little sister - all tops.

Henry Winkler was so funny and heartbreaking, too! They gave him a lot more to work with this season and it was just brilliant.

Why do you hate Henry Winkler so much?

I am sure someone has Matt Berry yelling out “BAT!”

Hell Jared Harris in Season One of The Terror

Last week’s episode is a high water mark for superhero mythos to me, and anything else this show does or doesn’t do, won’t effect what an astonishing hour of television it was.

I know, it was almost comical when the grandmother croaked, like oi here’s another tragedy!

The level of production and narrative confidence this show has blows apart anything Benioff and Weiss ever created (disregarding all the legitimately great GRRM content).

The amount of trauma/loss Angela has experienced . . . my god!

Great review! This show goes well above and beyond the source material.

Also props to internet sleuths for figure out the twist early: the dildo’s name is Excalibur ——-> Literally for the Ex of Cal Abar.

Phew, I need to lie down.

What’s wrong with Kinja? Tried posting via Safari, Chrome and Opera and nearly pulled my

I feel some mild panic at the sheer amount of stuff that needs to be wrapped up in two episodes. I sincerely hope Lindeloff keeps his promise and this really is a self-contained season, but there is so much left to wrap up.

I also think, maybe hugely off mark, but whatever, that they’re leaning hard into Scoresby as one of several of Lara’s father figures, and realized that he’s the only one who can fill the friendlier, more energetic role. Even reading the book, I was always struck by how she unconsciously cycles through them, and how

It’s been a long time since I’ve read the books, but Sam Elliott’s Scoresby is considerably more memorable than the character in the books.

I’m really surprised by your reading of Lyra here; this was the first episode where I really felt an “ah, yes, there she is. That’s the Lyra I know.” It totally came out of the blue and was entirely unearned based on the past 3 weeks, but she really /felt/ like Lyra to me this episode. She’s precocious! She’s

Yes! I know there’s a lot of love for Dafne Keen around these parts, but her Lyra was just not doing it for me the first few weeks.

This was the first episode where my attention didn’t start to wander midway through. Lyra seemed to actually have a rapport with Scoresby and Iorek - which is something she doesn’t even have with Pan - which fleshed the character quite a bit.
