I disagree. I got these from the library and read them in the wrong order - I read The Year of the Flood before Oryx and Crake, and I found the latter disappointing compared to the former. I felt it was a much better story with more compelling characters at the front and center.

I really hope this means we'll get coverage on the AV Club for this show. It's seriously underrated.

I definitely recommend it. It takes a few episodes to really get good but trust me, it's definitely worth it. I'm actually really sad that there aren't reviews here - it's totally perfect for this place.

Actually it was "got pregnant, killed herself" lol similar but not quite the same

OMG I LIVE for Bitch Planet.

I'm a liiiittle embarrassed to say I've seen it with the directors' commentary - but I have, and it is really, really entertaining. They had to change a lotttt of stuff to get that PG-13 rating.

Came here to say this. It's one of my all-time favorites!

Oh yeah, it was definitely implied in their conversation that he's Mylene's father. At least that's what I took away from it. He said something about "seventeen years ago" which is about her age, right?

This movie is so fucking good. Also whenever anyone mentions Bruce Hornsby I laugh because of this film.

In the early stages of our relationship, my bf would put on this playlist when we hooked up that included "Somebody's Baby" but it would just make me laugh because all I could think of was Stacey and all that horrible high school sex she had.

That song always makes me cry because of the British Office. :'( But in a good way! I'm a sap.

Nah, it's intentional. It's camp.

Glad to see some love for World's Greatest Dad (one of my all-time faves) and The Ten.

Yeah, a central theme to his flashbacks was his privilege as a white male. He was caught with marijuana, trespassing on private property and underage drinking, and the cops just gave him a scare and let him go. Poussey was arrested for essentially the same thing (although I'm sure she had more weed on her) and was

Caputo saying he "stood by" Bayley's actions or w/e was crossing the goddamn line. I hate it when this happens, and I've definitely heard it before from officers who shot unarmed black people - when questioned if they would do it again, knowing what they know now, they say they would still do it. Why? Is it so

I agree with you so much that I wish I could like, frame this comment. So many people don't seem to understand what Solondz is doing, and I don't mean to be condescending in saying this but I find his work so sincere and earnest in an almost painful way. Happiness is a masterpiece, and although his most recent work

I personally think the plot w/ Hugh Hefner as the prime minister and Billy Bob Thornton as a lecherous Dubya stand-in is the worst. Also, Keira Knightly's plotline.

Not chubby per se, but she wasn't her normal Hollywood movie weight. I remember this vividly because I have a little pot belly, and have had one all my life, and when I saw that movie on the big screen and saw her little pot belly I was totally thrilled. David O Russell specifically wanted her to look like that. I

Yahoo Screen was so terrible. Granted, the Internet at my house is not of the highest quality, but I still had such a difficult time watching this season of Community that I downloaded some of the episodes instead.
