Ha! My former in-laws used to live there. It’s been a long time since I’ve been there but I don’t recall anything “ghetto” about the place, either.

It’s peacocking.

Native southerner here chiming in just to say Dukes is the only mayo I will use. This is because Dukes was the only mayo my very southern Mamaw would use.

Double Amen! Thank you for the excellent advice. And I definitely agree with you about the confidence factor— that’s everything, isn’t it? I’ve felt severely insecure about my body for a long time (most likely the result of some trigger warning worthy stuff in my past). Then I finally started feeling more or less ok

Just chiming in to say I agree—swim pants are amazing! I just started back with swimming a few times a week at an indoor pool, and I only feel comfortable** while wearing a tankini top and Capri length swim pants (made by Tyr). I get the coverage that makes me feel more comfortable, plus some light compression that

This is excellent advice. I just couldn’t seem to part with my professional model clarinet, even though I hadn’t played in several years... until I found out about a local kid whose incredible abilities meant that he’d had “outgrown” the student model instrument he’d been using. Giving him my old clarinet was a no

If the comics are all kid-friendly/age appropriate, I’d consider donating them  to a local after school program in your community. The folks who operated my son’s former program were making miracles happen with very limited funding and would’ve LOVED getting a box of comic books for the kids!

The second guessing... agh! That’s always my downfall. I purchased a home (including all contents) that previously belonged to a hoarder, and sorting through mountains and piles of someone else’s stuff taught me an awful lot about what NOT to hold onto in life. But I’m also a creative person who enjoys sewing,

This is very good advice. I think it’s easiest to start decluttering in the smallest room that needs your attention, or even in a single closet or a corner if the clutter is seriously out of hand. Just start somewhere small! Keep your overall end goal in mind, but always keep the work more manageable by focusing on

Thank you for this! Ok, you have me convinced. I’ve tried to live by Alton Brown’s “no unitaskers in the kitchen” thing for so many years... but dammit, sometimes having a unitasker on hand makes life easier.

Claire, I promise you this: Barley malt syrup will always be your best friend when making bagels. Maybe you could adjust the recipe and try adding some? Recipes that don’t call for malt syrup (or non-diastatic barley malt powder as an alternative) always seem like they’re missing something. Barley malt syrup has a

Yep. And don’t bundle/secure cords so tightly that they can’t be unplugged as needed. Made both mistakes before.

Same here. Basting as you’ve described is the only way I’ve ever been able to fry an egg with a good looking yolk. And sometimes toward the end of cooking, I’ll turn the heat way, way down (or just remove the pan from the burner) and cover with a lid.

She has been cheated on repeatedly by a child molester.

Thank you for saying this. The self-centeredness about this handicapped parking thing been disheartening, so I appreciate you saying that. I’m disabled and rely on a rolling walker everywhere I go (never very far), and I *still* have people questioning me sometimes for parking in a handicapped spot (even though I have

Ok, hold up— you do know that people can have disabling conditions that don’t always require the use of a wheelchair, walker or cane, right?

Please don’t even joke about this. I’m disabled and it’s often a very stressful to find a handicapped spot. I can’t really describe how stressful it feels to be unable to find a spot... when you’re not physically able to make the choice of just parking elsewhere.

Idk— definitely not as well as heavy duty oven cleaner sprays might work, but this works well for me. You might need to repeat this more than once, and it’s definitely not a “no scrub” method, but it should work ok as long as you aren’t trying this on an oven that’s been totally trashed and neglected for a long time. Thank you SO much for this! Even though they’re unavailable now, this is still very helpful because it gives me a better guideline for what you’ve found helpful. So I can use the link to compare the dimensions, overall design, material, etc. Thank you for real!

Thank you for this. It makes me sick knowing that my Hulu monthly fee (or fees from whatever provider, since they’re all pretty much the same) go toward paying for this shit. Short of losing access to the channels we actually support and would want to watch, there’s nothing much we can do about it because of all the
