It’s such an inspirational story and history, I enjoyed reading about Wild Iris. With great regret that such spaces are disappearing, these cultural and community places closing, our country gets ever duller and corporate and dreary. Monocultural. (A similar thing with the disappearance of gay bars and bookstores.)

It’s hard for me to picture a world where bookstores are a thing of the past, I don’t think that’s going to happen.

I feel like this is a good sentiment but you give terrible examples.

So many important memories at this bookstore. I wish we could protect all of them as historical monuments or publicly funded meetings spaces. Thanks to Wild Iris for hanging on so many years (and for its place in southern feminist history).

I mean, I’m youngish (under 30) and I do those things, read paper books and buy them from bookstores. I don’t have anything against electronic books (I sometimes use them), but for me paper books are far, far superior. I don’t actually think I know anyone who truly prefers electronic over paper.

And for queer people like myself since she was bisexual. I’m a lesbian and I hate that her curves were removed too.

On one of the show’s I listen to on NPR, they had someone call in talking about how dissatisfied he was with Clinton and siding all the fuss around her emails. One of the panelists on the show, who is black, responded with comments about Trump’s racism and said that people like the caller we’re arguing that “people

Yes but her voice wasn’t soothing enough AND she wore pantsuits.

‘Contrary to mainstream belief’ the Earth is flat.

I just watched it last night too and thought it was a really poor combination of interviewer and interviewee. For what it’s worth, I think Obama and Clooney both have pretty good senses of humor, so Letterman could play off them and with them pretty well. He tried to make a similar connection with Yousafzai and it

So I was really enjoying Dave Letterman’s Netflix series, “My Next Guest Needs No Introduction” until tonight. His first woman guest. He was so awkward, kept talking over her, kept bringing up his son, not letting her answer questions and making Taliban jokes. I cringed through most of it. I’m so fucking tired.

Sns is getting later and later. 1:30am in the UK and nothing.

*sigh* probably.

I noticed that too. It’s correct, but only because they’re being weasels to inattentive readers.

Weird fact: every President since WWII with the exception of Eisenhower has been a father of daughters. So have the overwhelming majority of the Vice Presidents and the losing presidential candidate* of either of the major parties. That clearly doesn’t mean that most of these presidents were great for women, but I’ve

Sadly, apparently the Connecticutians (Conneticutters?) do not like their governor. That makes me sad, because I like people who call the NRA a terrorist organization. Because it is.

Not on topic, but hoping, pretty pleasing for a SNS start time in the next hour.....

The juxtaposition of Trump’s hand gesture with the dildos on the table is priceless.

He’s empowering ALL Americans with his winning agenda.

Hey, if they want more women around, they’ll become polygamists.
