Damn, reading this was rough.  Not like you need me to say anything, but obviously us white people don’t have to worry about making any sort of contingency plan for what happens when one of us is senselessly killed.  My Thanksgiving is mostly just going to be me getting into arguments with my racist and conservative

If she admits that she “is a little racist,” then you know she is extremely racist. If she were just really racist, she would have said she didn’t have a racist bone in her body.

If the Hangover were released today, would anyone really be shitting on it for being offensive, though?  I mean his movies contain some scenes that might not hold up that well, but overall I don’t really think his movies were all that offensive.  Sophomoric, sure, but that’s kind of the point with frat-style humor.

But that’s overblown. I mean he’s basically saying, people on Twitter will shit on your movie, so you don’t make it. That’s just complete b.s. No one is shutting artists down because they are offended by it. They are just thin-skinned and can’t take being criticized, so they don’t make the movie. That’s on them.

Haha yeah, Dabo and the millionaire coaches have no leg to stand on here. (Saban has not been as anti-player on this as guys like Mike Leach and Dabo, but no doubt he’s making more money on the backs of players who just get paid in a scholarship that is worth way less than their talents).

Oh, I agree with you totally, man.  Might not have made that point as clearly as I would like.  But for those with this concern about recruits just getting endorsements, it seems like there would be solutions to that issue without rejecting the general endorsement scheme totally.  But yeah, better to have this stuff

Haha yeah.  I mean boosters have a lot of money, sure, but a million for one high school recruit?  If he’s talking about football, there’s no way guys who have never played a down would get that much money.  And if they do because of a bidding war for their services, then that’s just capitalism, my friend.

Yeah, the whole, “boosters will just give recruits an endorsement bonus” only works if you are worried about guys not being paid to choose a school. Which, one, arguably isn’t worth protecting. But if they are really worried about recruits being paid to choose a particular school, why not just put a rule in place that

We aren’t erasing bad memories from the past. We are erasing the celebration of bad memories and people. It’s not like the monuments are meant to educate people about the ills of slavery and the confederacy. They are celebrating treasonous war criminals, essentially. There were statutes of Saddam Hussein and Stalin

You are not responsible for your father’s sins, but you also shouldn’t ignore the impact those sins have had on other people. And again, this guy is pushing to keep these monuments up that celebrate the Confederacy. This guy is freed from the actions of his ancestors, but he’s pushing to promote a heritage of slavery.

Guy files public lawsuit seeking to uphold glorification of racists from the 1800s, has reporter note that guy comes from a line of racists from the 1800s that profited handsomely off racism.  What an outrage!

Yeah, now that she gave them the friendliest instruction she could on the Castle doctrine (basically same thing as stand your ground but extra oomph since it’s in your home), Guyger has one less ground for appealing this.  Still have to see how she gets sentenced, and in a tough on crime state it should be many

According to a website I looked at (that isn’t official by any means) her sentence will likely range from 5 years to 99 years.   I’m guessing she gets 5-10

Well, if they really were really stupid mistakes, then the quality of her soul wouldn’t be as bad as if she lied and intentionally committed premeditated murder, right?  In that case, then, for her body to rot to the point it matches the quality of her soul, she wouldn’t have to be in prison as long.  Justice would be

What’s the “end-run” around defamation laws here? Have they published anything that isn’t truth? They aren’t trying to silence his speech, but report on the guy’s motives and history, which he claims to be so proud of that the monuments need to be preserved. His reputation is that he’s one of the guys fighting to

They aren’t just publishing information about a guy’s family history.  This guy filed a lawsuit to keep Confederate monuments intact.  His family history is relevant to his motives, and he shouldn’t be ashamed of that if he’s again, filing lawsuits to protect Confederate monuments.  The false story about the girl

I’m from the South, and all this “it’s about heritage” garbage has no bearing in reality.  I’ve never seen someone fly a Confederate flag who wasn’t a virulent racist.

Yeah, but this guy is suing to stop the destruction of Confederate monuments because it’s “history” or some b.s. like that.  I don’t see how it’s wrong to point out that he comes from a slave-holding Confederate family.  I mean he should be proud of that fact if he’s wanting these monuments to stay standing, right?

The White House defense on this is just that Trump was reaching out first to basically introduce Barr and have them work with Barr on the DOJ’s probe into the Mueller investigation. So they have their cover story, but why one Earth, even if that’s proper to do, are they even investigating the origins of the Mueller

States pretty much have no shot at appealing an acquittal.  Plus, it’s impossible to know what exactly caused a jury to find a defendant not guilty, so it’d be hard to show that error was prejudicial anyway.  I’m a civil attorney and it’s been a long time since I took any criminal law class, but I’m not sure the state
