And TBH, and I don't mean this as offense: most of us are fairly low-info. Especially in states like California, when we go in to vote on the bazillion propositions, we're all low-info to some degree.

Fair enough. Though you might be giving the Tea Party a little too much credit. They certainly benefited from the votes of angry white people, but there were a number of wealthy, angry white people prepared to bankroll their campaigns.

I legitimately think that my liberal Democratic representative—like most liberal Democratic representatives—is different from a conservative Republican. I don't consider this to be a particularly radical opinion. Nor do I consider myself to be a low-information voter.

No. I'm saying it's not the only source. Look at the behavior of many of those founders once they actually took office.

Two things:

The Federalist Papers were written by three people: Alexander Hamilton, James Madison and John Jay. Not all of the founders agreed with everything they wrote.
