It wasn’t always like that. Annalee and Charlie-Jane, the founders, were bona-fide sci-fi and fantasy scholars. I used Annalee’s book on anti-capitalist horror extensively in my own doctoral thesis.

I am not even that over the moon about Silo, they are churning through so much cast & the villains don’t seem very interesting. But it is interesting enough with that cast & unusual worldbuilding that it deserves more attention than it is getting here, certainly compared to most of these B- and C-list movies 

A well regarded sci fi series gets brought to TV and does well enough to get a renewal, and it feels like this announcement is the first thing that’s been posted since it’s teaser trailer dropped months ago.  Doesn’t quite make sense.

According to TV Line, Silo has been officially renewed for a second season at Apple TV+.

Really, you have never found anything like that little watering hole area? I want to say that I have. You have to stick around the area for a while for that many creatures to show up.

I enjoyed the first season of Rings of Power reasonably well, but I don’t know that there is anything about the second season that I’m really looking forward to. Maybe Galadriel? But unclear to me what her storyline is now since canonically she retreats to Lothlorien and cuts it off from the world pretty much 

A24 has been putting out a lot of bangers. Look forward to this.

An interesting way to mitigate the problem: Have your lander make a landing pad during the descent by injecting material into the rocket engine exaust to deposit on top of the lunar surface:

Here’s the thing. Wendy’s toasted croissant buns are far superior to BK’s actual croissants. Because whatever BK is doing leaves them soggy and flaccid every time. I have yet to eat a croissan’wich that wasn’t floppy and sad.

It looks like something a drunk college kid would throw together at 3am.
