@selianth: I couldn't risk shipping errors costing me a credit charge. UPS, USPS and Papa Johns consistently miss my house.

@pixelpushing: Many U.S. counties have put images of buildings online for years now. Google made it easier to access, but the same images are generally out there already.

@dallasmay: Yeah, I guess my point is that the device wasn't meant to be used that way. From a software perspective it may be a marvel of programming, but I don't like all the scrolling and if I fit it to the screen the type is to small to read. I caught myself reading everything on the color touchscreen

@selianth: Mine is all the way across. It doesn't bother me much except that if I use the prevpage button above it, it takes a bit of arranging to get it settled back in again. Seems to be a common problem based on complaints from the B&N nook boards, but last I checked there was no fix announced. Material?

@sqeakytoy of the apocalypse: Same here - I hate that the buttons can't be swapped as an option setting. I would be willing to try a root just for this, but first I'll get it replaced for the cracked button.

@dallasmay: Man, I hate this browser. It's more like a bit of flash they threw on there just because they could. The device itself is not good for surfing, so maybe I should hate that instead of the browser. Great eReader though - I love everything else about it besides the fact that I cannot read in public

@Matt0505: I agree, it should be less difficult to find one now. On the other hand, scarcity makes it much easier to resist going deeper into debt in the name of instant gratification and just waiting to have the cash available to me. This has the added benefit of keeping my wife that much happier.

@Matt0505: One of our local (Cincinnati) Sprint stores told me they hold back 4 or 5 for new customers while current customers looking for upgrades have to wait. Don't know if that's company wide or not though. Worth asking if you really want one.

But I thought size didn't matter?

@Donuthead: Yeah, I suppose my comment may have been better placed on something like Consumerist, but I just really get off on pointing out the obvious. My intent is not blasting Giz or defending Apple really. Because it comes from FSJ it makes sense to see it here, but FSJ targeting Apple like they claimed to have

@Donuthead: Not at all. I just found it odd that the article appeared to be inspired by Apple's responses to the issues, as if it were unique to them. A bit of commentary perspective on the topic of the article, not so much the company itself.

@r33brooks: Yeah, because no american girl would ever do something like this. She'd stay with the privacy of a strip club or porn flick.

@Thwack: "Daddy, why does my picture of the Capitol Dome look all fuzzy?"

This is called "Marketing" and is in no way unique to Apple. They didn't invent doublespeak. The same article can be written for every company and every product, but this week seems to be "Let's Make Apple Sauce" week.

@itchytooth: Oh no, there goes my bank account....
