"the Raptor notwithstanding, Ford is no longer interested in making a capable off-road vehicle."

@adeft: You'd lose that bet. The brake recall is for a defective seal that can allow fluid to leak. If any manufacturer didn't issue a voluntary recall for a safety issue like that, they would be forced to make a recall by NHTSA.

@deprogram: I'm excited about it, too. I think plug-in hybrids are going to be the bridge between gasoline and whatever comes after, and it would be a massive achievement if GM can pull it off. (My biggest fear is that it's a repeat of the X-cars - rushed into production without fully understanding the demands of the

@JonZeke: I could accept your explanation of the disappointment if we were only talking about commenters.

@deprogram: Don't harsh their poutrage with reason.

@BroncoMech: Thanks for clarifying. :thumbsup:

@PHXSJAZ: I'm pretty sure you do because having only one eye makes depth perception a lot more difficult.

The internet is not a series of tubes, and a 53 year-old DeHavilland isn't a Jeep.

@PerfectGenesis: I prefer the 550 to the 575 you've pictured, but yeah - great looking car.

Sweet Jesus - would it kill someone at Jalopnik if they did some actual reporting?
