Since women have had a property label for a long time, I think it’s probably always been this way. When this guy professed his love for me in front of others (which I now think was to control my answer - like proposing in public), he was genuinely shocked and confused that I told him I wasn’t interested. He spent the

I simultaneously love your dad for taking care of you (knowing that too many parents—especially dads—aren’t engaged in their children’s lives), and am enraged/depressed that it took the words of a man to make that asshole leave you alone. Your own words should have been enough!

And your statement is a large part of why society continues to act like it does today. Just to clarify I am not acting like I am superior to anyone else. But honestly, since the dawn of the internet, and even the library. This woman has no excuse, even if she was trying to help. She’s not. As I stated before, she’s

Anyone who decides that a good way draw attention to a group that they aren’t a part of is to create a project that diverts at least half of the attention to him or herself deserves to get laughed at. That’s without even touching on the problems with blackface. It’s like something a self-centered TV character would

AAAAAAAAHAHAH! Her update! When you click the link to the original article upstairs, now it reads:

Because if I accidentally step on your foot, but I had the good intention of killing a mosquito about to bite you, I’ve still stepped on your foot. Also, there pretty much isn’t a more offensive response to “this is hurtful” than “No, it isn’t”. Please stahp.

Lol you're an absolute idiot. Do you have any idea how disgustingly bad life is for Africans in any Eastern European country?

Racism is Hungary is not as bad as in America? Source?

well, hungarians are mostly ignorant when it comes to people of color. see, once a black guy walked down the street in my village, and my mom was so excited she talked about this for three weeks. the one african lecturer at my university was constantly mocked and made fun of, which was considered harmless by everyone,

Okay. In that case, think of the ego attached to the person who thinks she can show diversity by reimagining one face, HERS, her white face, as the substitution for the actual portraits. Also, very clueless since she’s really only showing one face. She only celebrates herself and her love of photoshop. Let’s pretend

Got one thing to say to all that. Cultural appropriation is not just a US issue and anyone who tries to play that card is a liar. You might call it something else in your country, but it’s the same shit. It’s not a new issue either. Europe doesn’t understand cultural appropriation? Please. Europe invented it.

To the people in the comments trying to defend her by saying cultural differences, she’s Hungarian and only Americans have issues with cultural appropriation.

She reminds me of the sister in 16 Candles so I guess this is appropriate.

woah that look is powerful!

She stole all the photographs of tribeswomen from other photographers, presumably via Pinterest (they’re All quite popular on there). She probs hasn’t visited the tribes, or knows anything about them not from Wikipedia.

I also take issue with her comments that these cultures are on the “brink of extinction.” I mean, my anthro degree is fifteen years old and I still remember how completely academically and morally wrong it is to characterize contemporary living people as “living fossils” who belong to “exotic” (read primitive)

Because she’s a huge attention whore, that wanted head pats for being so ‘edgy’ and ‘progressive’ with her ‘art’ and what a wonderful thing she is doing for these tribes. Excuse, I have to go throw up now.

Guys guys! This is a small mistake. She has a lot of friends that are black so I’m sure she’s not racist. She just forgot that the only appropriate time for black face is when you have a REALLY good Halloween costume idea that’ll be SO funny....

*draws deep breath, walks to microphone*

I’m half white and I just can’t deal with white nonsense any longer. Last night I had the pleasure of hearing a room full of white Australians scream the N word because they were singing along to Kendrick. I had to sit down before I passed out from rolling my eyes so hard.
