I’ve gotta know. Did anyone, for even an instant, think she was, in all seriousness, actually saying that men under 170cm “don’t have human rights”? It’s already too hilariously absurd a thing to take seriously but we know there’s a very real possibility that in context that isn’t even quite what she said. I mean, with

Back in 2019, I was in the market for a new 3D printer. The one I’d been using since 2015 was working just fine...but it was already an old design when I got it and printers had come a long way since then, so I could definitely do better. I bought a pair of Ender 3 Pros, based mostly on their purported performance

Well, then I hope Nintendo don’t mind getting paid for their next console in cigarettes!

This is clearly just another step in Nintendo’s master plan to put their entire fanbase in prison for video game piracy. 😏

You mean yesterday, when Cyberpunk 2077 was trending on Twitter because everyone was posting fanart of their favorite characters for Valentine’s Day? I think the CDPR social media team already had things well in hand. 🤨

Even if that were something they could do—it’s not, it doesn’t work like that—I’m not sure why that would necessitate a rebrand. Whole thing’s just weird.

A rebrand seems weird and unnecessary... Like, what’s wrong with miHoYo? But hey, they probably just made another half billion dollars off the latest Genshin Impact in-game event, so what the hell do I know? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It comes down to how good the cameras and the bus they’re on are. The cameras have to have decent resolution, be good across a wide range of lighting conditions, and the bus needs to be able to get those good images from the cameras and through the image processing subsystem with minimal latency.

I am not surprised. I’ve logged over 14,600 hours in VR since 2015, and thanks to that experience—and probably also owing to above-average kinesthesia in generalI can maintain decent awareness of my real-world surroundings...but Blade & Sorcery is a dangerous-ass game.

Well, okay. I said ‘smoking’ instead of ‘possessing’ because a lot of times people mentally associate ‘possession’ with large quantities or ‘intent to distribute’ and I kind of just wanted to make the distinction of “personal use” without having to use as many words...and apparently failed?

I was comparing imprisonment for piracy to imprisonment for weed, in that they’re both utter nonsense things to lock people up for. I suppose my subsequent remark that “not everything illegal is a crime” confused the matter though.

there is literally no reason the same rationale can’t be applied to shoplifting an actual physical item

This. If companies don’t want us modding our devices, make it unnecessary! If they dislike people choosing not to pay for their games, stop giving them so many reasons to do that, too!

Did... Did we just conduct a constructive and civil exchange of ideas...on the internet?! 😱

games that aren’t easily bought around here. The kind that North America would frown upon, but are accepted in Japan.

or saying that if people weren’t going to buy the game anyway, then they’re justified in stealing it? (That one’s a weird one.)

That’s an excellent way of putting it. Even if Gary Bowser was personally responsible for everything Nintendo blames Team Xecuter for, it doesn’t amount to any appreciable harm to them. Yet he’s going to lose three years of his life, and they’re ecstatic about it.

Imagine being a console gamer in the 2020s... 😂

I didn’t say they don’t want to play the game, I said they’re not willing to pay for it. There’s a big difference.

And how many people do you know, who install a mod chip just to install Linux on their console?
