Okay, I have lived in Vermont for 25 years now, and visited my mom’s family here for Thanksgiving for at least a dozen before that which I was old enough to remember... I have never in my life heard of mac’n’cheese as a Thanksgiving side. 🤨 And they’re even from Virginia!

Oof! Some prime r/VRtoER material, there. 🤣 That’s one of the things which worries me about my impending doom move. It’s been 20 years since I lived anywhere that didn’t have 10-12 foot ceilings, and I’m pretty sure the new place has 8... It’s going to feel so claustrophobic. 😬

I fucked up my knuckle pretty good the other night playing Blade & Sorcery, which I bought over the weekend... Got turned around—which is WAY too easy in that game, holy shit!—wandered over to my refrigerator-sized ThermalTake Tower 900, and brought my hand down trying to land a killing blow... *WHACK!* The knuckle of

Woah, almost looks like physical substantiations of the art from Kill Six Billion Demons or Lancer. Indeed remarkably similar to the art style of Tom Parkinson-Morgan a.k.a. Abbadon. 🤔 I’m amazed that it’s real sculpture and not 3D... And after all that sculpting of the beautifully detailed pieces, that’s only half

Feast or famine indeed. It’s been forever since I played, but as a D.Va player, nothing gave me more joy than having a Roadhog stupidly hook me while standing on the point with his entire team, when I have my ult ready.

I was replying to someone who said they’d like to see Texas-based studios pack up and leave town in protest of this stuff, as if that’s somehow equivalent to cancelling a convention... I really don’t need the explanation. I appreciate the effort though.

I’m sure that the majority of reasonable people in Texas are gritting their teeth and looking for the fire exits right about now...  The problem is, if you’re cancelling an event or moving its venue, at worst you’re inconveniencing some people. Like one person I saw comment that their mother had recently moved to San

That’s certainly the impression I’m getting from the community. Lot of diehard PAX attendees saying some permutation of “Sad to see it go, but I’m not traveling to/spending money in Texas with the way things are.” Can’t blame them. Jeez, yeesh, and/or yikes! 😬

That is 100% fucking exactly what it says, and I’m puzzled as to how anybody could interpret it as ‘no longer needing a Facebook account.’ 🤨

“As we’ve focused more on work, and frankly, as we’ve heard your feedback more broadly, we’re working on making it so that you can log into Quest with an account other than your personal Facebook account,” CEO Mark Zuckerberg said in his keynote speech. “We’re starting to test support for work accounts soon.”

I really only clicked to make sure Watership Down was on the list, but I’m glad to see three Ghibli films on there too. 😁

12,727 hours at the moment. That is SteamVR...but I never leave it running, because I don’t like to have the lighthouses spun up when I’m not using them. I average 30-40 hours a week at minimum. I started in May 2015 with a 3D printed Google Cardboard headset which, frankly, still has better optics than my VIVE Pro...

Exactly. I’ve got zero problems with ‘adult content’ games on Steam. I do draw the line at the low/no-effort trash, however. Because some of those ‘anime-porn shovelware’ games might as well be scams.

And no, I don’t think performance is a blocker right now. Again, the Quest 2 shows you that you don’t really need massive horsepower to drive a solid VR experience.

That’s a great point about the pandemic... Though at the same time, more people who already had headsets tried social VR experiences, but since VR headsets hadn’t been the easiest to get, even before the semiconductor shortages really hit... It may be impossible to know if people who didn’t have headsets would have.

Well, no argument from me about us not being there. But VR social is definitely not something ‘nobody’ is doing. And while I agree that Zuck’s vision is some truly absurd horseshit, I do however think that the future of VR has never looked brighter.

Right? I love how these chucklefucks didn’t take the hint when Valve—who have allowed their platform to become overrun with anime porn shovelwaredrew the line at this asinine bullshit specifically. 😂

It’s a shame Microsoft has their head so far up their ass with the Xbox that they couldn’t see the opportunity they really had with Windows Mixed Reality. The moment WMR headsets like the Lenovo Explorer went on clearance for $200 with controllers, they started selling like water in the desert. And I’m sure they were

Personally, I have over 12,000 hours in VR and not a minute of it has been spent in VRChat... And yet every weekend it hits peak user numbers upwards of 25k people on Steam alone, so there’s clearly somebody undertaking activities of a social nature in VR. 🤷‍♂️

I legit thought the headline pic was a photo with a few art filters thrown on it. The rest still look like they could just be heavily manipulated photos... Damn, that level of realism takes a lot of skill.
