Yeah, there’s no way to implement this where shitty people aren’t going to be shitty, but they do only get the one message, which I think is as close to ideal as you’re likely to get. Legitimate requests can be made, and the amount of additional damage shitty people can do is minimized.

I feel your pain. All I can say is: Ad blocker. I use uBlock Origin and I never see ads on Twitch or YouTube.

I agree that her awfulness merits a stronger response, but the sad reality is that the careful phrasing of the statement is probably necessary from a legal perspective, in our highly litigious societies. I’m not going to begrudge somebody for 1.) Wanting to keep their job. 2.) Not wishing to become legally entangled…

No one’s debating that she’s awful, that what she says is awful, and that it leads to the world being a more awful place, but you can’t expect them to just come out and say that in an official statement, it would open the company up to legal action...from an unhinged petulant bigot.

I may not agree with her, and I might not agree with her stance on a range of topics, but I can agree that she has the right to hold her opinions.
