If you’re driving a shared vehicle, prep it for the next driver by turning on blower to full, all accessories on, radio on full volume, wipers on turbo speed.

Meanwhile, Japan’s the pillows are still together and making music after some thirty years, having risen to more widespread notoriety—At home and abroad at the turn of the millennium when they provided the soundtrack for Gainax’s FLCL.

The problem isn’t the drive, it’s that only licensed software (All of which is appallingly bad) can legally decrypt the blu-ray videos. Commercial players like PowerDVD and such. If you want to use a real video player, you’re SOL.

The worst part is that some of the paid decryption apps that decrypt on-the-fly are imperfect, and if you make an unencrypted copy of the disc, it can have defects. Like stream errors in the video, where there’s a bad frame and everything goes fucky until the next keyframe. Like, gee, thanks guys. 😑

[Shouting from a rooftop] “IT’S BECAUSE YOU’RE A SCUMBAG!”

That kind of thing is always an option, though I prefer not to transcode the videos.  One of these days I’ll pay for an app to decrypt the discs so I can watch them, or rip the contents to my NAS, but I keep finding excuses not to spend the money...  (It really is a hard sell, trying to convince myself to spend an

It really sucks. Every piece of BD player software I’ve seen, free or otherwise, is hot garbage. All I want to do is use MPC-HC to play my movies like always, and I can’t fuckin’ do it with movies I actually pay for. I can get pre-decrypted blu-ray/UHD disc images off usenet weeks before a movie even goes on sale and

I remember the last version of MS Flight Simulator I bought... It was for the Macintosh, and came on a single floppy disk...which I’m pretty sure wasn’t even double-density.

THE ONLY WINNING MOVE IS NOT TO PLAY.

You know there are biodegradable plastic bags made from non-petroleum plastics, right? Who’s to say he isn’t using those?  It’s not better than a fully reusable bag, but it’s better than the alternative.

At least they gave sufficient warning this time, I’m sure more than a few circles took a bath on the natsu comiket cancellation, with books already at the printers and no way to make back the money in the short term. 😬

Man, fuck this year. Can 2020 go a week without doing something fucking horrible?! Gods dammit!

Well, that’s certainly on-brand for our Turnip-in-Chief... 😑

What. wtf is he doing wearing the grabbity glove from Half-Life: Alyx?? Is that like a preorder bonus cosmetic item on Steam or something? 🤨

Double XP making basically the same joke everybody made when swimming was added, but I gotta give them points for execution; That third panel is too good.

From the article:

Wow, I did not know that about the birthdays, good catch! 😲

I did this back in the middle of June. Used a bunch of screenshots to nail down the seed. The trick to really narrowing it down, is to have at least one previously-documented meteor shower, and the time of at least one shooting star to the minute. (Or the second, if you can!)

There’s no excuse for not at least distracting the player with a cool immersive environment during the load. Something with lots of visual details to take in as you pan your head around. That’s really all it takes to be tolerable.
