The Kennedy men were liberal bastions. Hugh Hefner was considered a liberal. Bill Clinton and Bernie Sanders and any other liberal White male of a certain grew up this way. And unless they came to some personal awakening, they were/are likely to remain sexist/racist/whatever. Being open and fair-minded only means that

My mom was the same way and I always used to say to her, "ma... as long as you didn't hear the phrase 'loco in the cabeza', they're probably not talking about you."

All I need? Do you always delusionally assume that your fellow internet commenters are actually famous in real life? Because I was actually assuming that you were nobody at all.

You really need to work on that ol' reading comprehension thing.

Well then maybe you should have added a winky face ;). You’re in a thread where every other person is humorlessly piling on regarding Ms. Griffin’s lack of talent and shame, in an article that seems to have been written just to gin up phony controversy and lcd feminist PC outrage. I actually started out as one of the

*sigh*

You don’t have to on my account. I’m not actually proselytizing for the Church of LaGriffin. It's just that hardly anyone is still doing what she is consistently trying to do and I appreciate the effort.

I'm pretty sure she gets paid. She certainly wins awards — multiple emmy nominations, a couple of emmy awards, multiple Gammy noms with a win for best comedy album this last time out, top of the NYT bestseller list. Her shows generally sell out.

There used to be these things called talk shows. Not the heavily scripted plugfests (not that they weren't plugging, but it was more straightforward and less manipulative) that we have now, but shows revolving around fabulous conversations with often B or C or D listed celebs ( there were As too) — each one witty as

It all boils down to pathetic unresolved high school traumas.

Immune to what? Confusion between her private life and public persona? Unsourced quotes from anonymous burners? Other commenters claiming she was drunk when she actually, and somewhat famously, doesn't touch alcohol? Apparently she's not immune to any of it because here it is.

Why? AC and KG have been hosting this freewheel, loose cannon, slightly tipsy shitshow for nearly a decade. Ringing in the new year with the Vienna Philharmonic, this ain't. Though I suppose they could go back to doing a "light-hearted" retrospective of all the news and "newsy" stuff that happened the previous year.

Whatever. Don't watch.

Do you mean basic free speech rights? Yes.

Helps if you're drinking too. But yeah, it is pretty magically goofy. AC and Kathy have a nice chemistry. The prepared shtick is a little tired, but fortunately they don't seem to stick to the script too much. Its like a NYE cocktail party for shut-ins. What's not to like?

Oh absolutely.

It was his green velvet blazer and shorts set with the fedora that really sold it.

You do know that she's a professional comedian right? A lot of what you're criticizing is part of her act. And you really think Kathy F'ing Griffin lacks confidence?! Wow.

I know right? Everyone here tut tutting in high humorless dudgeon. What a bunch of stiffs.

He also talked about shrinkage — regarding someone daring him to get into an on site hot tub. He was very Don Lemon-y last night.
